Finally completed my mini series looking at Canadian Pacifics history. This final part looks at her history and was very hard to research as there is not much online about it...
Today LocoYard.com posted part 2 looking at the history of 35005 Canadian Pacific. It features its change from a Spam Can to its rebuilt form.
A big thank you to Nigel Kendall who gave me permission to use his brilliant photos...
Good evening, I thought Id share something I came across recently and is a brilliant tool for raising money for our heritage scene. Thanks to EasyFundraising.org.uk you can raise money for your favourite heritage railway simply by doing your shopping online! Easy Fundraising helps charities...
Check out my latest post working on 35005 Canadian Pacific. Some great progress by the team working on the beast has been made. Well worth checking out http://locoyard.com/2014/03/19/simons-journey-into-the-world-of-volunteering-entry-7/
Hope you enjoyed yourself at the Gala.
The Mid Hants did a huge push for donations for CanPac its so much easier to get donations for your Merchant Navy when you have a locomotive like Clan Line advertising the class. It was so popular if CanPac is even 1/3 as popular Clan Line was the line is...
It is a good book, I do highly recommend it and has lots of photos of 06 in her original spam condition.
35006 tender (3116) is actually still around and is actually destined to go to CanPac. During BR service the tender only ever was behind 06 but it actually left Barry scarpyard behind Port...
I was just looking at boilers and according to "Bulleid Power" by AJ Fry 06 was fitted with boiler 1095 and tender 3116. Boiler 1096 was fitted when she was rebuilt in 1959.
The Steam Dream Brochure is very odd. With all the railway photographers out there who would love there pictures in print why would you use the photos of a) Canadian Pacific (a locomotive being stripped down and hasnt been mainline in years) and b) Clan Line pretending to 35017 Belguim Marine...
Word on the grapevine is that Brighton had 1200 applications and that closed 2 weeks before the London one did so it could be a while to sort through all those applications. Patience will key it seems
Hi
I travelled on the St Davids express 2 years with Steam Dreams and had a very enjoyable time. I travelled in Pullman class (free upgrade due to a network rail mess up. Result) and people in that werent that smart. I was dressed in a shirt and trousers and was smarter then most. Its...
Hi guys due to the popularity of my "Volunteer Diaries" working on 35005 Canadian Pacific I decided to do a mini series writing about the locomotives history. The first part is about her time as a Spam Can/Flat Top and wondered what you think. Let me know if you find any errors etc. Thanks...
I got my diesels mixed up *embarrassed*
There are 50s at Eastleigh at least ;)
I got to admit I saw Hood the other in the BR Large Logo livery and she looked brilliant!
Hi guys I found this brilliant photo by Carl Watson (Carlwatson.com) of CanPac on the 2nd January. She has changed alot since then but its still a brilliant sight.
I applied for the job but not that confident.
A friend of mine applied for the trainee driver position at Brighton but hasnt heard anything (deadline was 31/1) has anyone else had any contact?
Thanks.

Will have to see if I can find them when I visit 35005 next
