Been told a gas bus ran out of fuel this pm. Well that was the words of the driver of the bus which I boarded after waiting 45 minutes for a Y1, the service I planned to get was the 1445 from Chipping Sodbury to Bristol. Any forum member able to confirm.
Travelled into Bristol this am, service I was on is usually full and standing from Hambrook, this morning couldn't have had more than 25 pax leaving Hambrook. Travelled back on a Y2 and the next stop audio needs tweaking cos some 'next stop is' are announced AFTER passing the stop or at it.
I am told 62 is to continue with operator HCT (or BCT as locally known) but is embroiled in a huge row as this operator is non unionised and therefore able to submit a lower tender bid. Also concerns that the operator only has the Parson Street depot which is an hour at least from the most...
39456 used today to launch South Gloucestershire Lynx network at Yate 3pm, Chipping Sodbury at 4pm and Thornbury at 5pm. No Champagne but we did have a ride to Chipping Sodbury and back to Yate on it. Waiting pax were impressed with the livery as the only other LYNK liveried DD vehicle pulled...
36816/7 in use on SG LYNKes have only had the repaint but after Wednesday when the gas buses are let loose on the SG countryside there will be a breathing space to vinyl those two vehicles.
Adding to my previous post, the Y1 will be the preferred service when the Yate P&R opens but I dont hold out much hope of that happening soon as Its been on the horizon since the days of Northavon DC and the current plan don't know where it will be located ????
The Y1 is busy in peaks with standing pax from Hambrook on occasions especially the 065x from my stop, Pitchcombe, and m3 pax transfer to it if they see it waiting at the Willy Wicket traffic lights at the Hambrook stop which saves an appropriate 10 minutes on the journey to the city. The Y2 is...
The info re LYNKes was given to me by a member of SG Council who had seen an email with that date included. 9 vehicles would allow a launch and spare gas vehicles have been allocated to the T1/Y1 with 2 such buses on the T1 when I looked earlier this morning and 39449 on the Y1 all day yesterday...
Ah, I misunderstood the post re timings, thought the post was about point to point running times. When I was a kid the no 5 to Patchway Estate ran short journeys, to Zetland Road, Nevil Road, Muller Road Top, Filton Park, Filton Church in between the full run to Pathway Estate until the 5A was...
