Is there anywhere else that the train could sensibly continue to and return from in that 45 minutes? Bolton or Preston? Would be better than having it sitting idle providing the trip time is not too tight.
And another problem caused by Northern's lack of DMUs. The new station at Low Moor in Bradford will only be served by one train per hour when it is scheduled to open in December 2015 and will run at a loss...
Reported in Modern Railways that the service will be operated by Class 456 units once they are transferred to SWT. Presumably through services to/from Waterloo via Richmond will end with those services starting and terminating at Reading instead. Will two cars be enough for usual demand?
