I sent them an email with an image of the railcard later on the same day as the incident. I'd hope that would be sufficient evidence to prove that I was in possession of the railcard at the time.
It's been confirmed that utility/prep work for the North Station extension will start next month after the illuminations- the first extension in over 90 years if my facts are right.
I've no doubts that the continued success of the new system will lead to further links, namely the much mooted...
Ticket inspections were carried out at all the instances you mentioned, however I was not asked to produce my railcard until 4PM at Poulton-le-Fylde.
Since I brought my own lunch that day I did not need bank cards. I left at Poulton because I was being picked up there by a friend that evening...
Just sent this email to general.enquiries@northernrailway.co.uk. Trying to be on the ball straight away and get it resolved ASAP.
To whom it may concern,
I am writing regarding an incident which occurred on Tuesday 10/10/2017.
On this day I purchased an off-peak open return from Blackpool...
Thanks for that. It's not about refund though because I already had the discount applied, I just didn't have railcard when asked for it when leaving the station. Should I send them an email anyway explaining the situation?
Hi just a bit worried about something that happened today. I travel from Blackpool North to Preston every day and I have a 16-25 railcard. I book through TrainLine and book an off peak return (with railcard discount) every day. It turns out I forgot my wallet today for the first time which...
Think we've gone a bit off topic.
Back to the line, there's an ongoing campaign supporting one of the tram options. It definitely seems like some sort of light rail scheme is the most popular option for us locals. Whether that is the one that goes ahead remains to be seen.

The line is barely viable as it is, that's why there needs to be a big change. Putting in a loop would benefit existing passengers but would not attract any new ones. To do that you need better connectivity and new routes. The most travelled to place from Fylde is Blackpool so it all adds up...
Respectfully disagree. If you read my post again I do not think there would be any significant change in passengers using the heavy rail and it may actually increase.
Realistically a St Anne's or Lytham extension is the only option because the huge cost for Kirkham will not be paid for at...
You make some valid points. But currently a significant number of users of the line are from St Annes and Lytham, and these passengers will be almost completely retained (very few take the train into Blackpool from here).
Converting that section to the tram might not necessarily reduce...
Kirkham will not be the terminus of a tramway (initially), because it was not considered as part of the SINTROPHER study. It'd cost too much at first.
Any extension would be to St Anne's or Lytham with some overlap of the existing railway. I envisage rail curtailment at St Anne's, with a...
Also here from the same article:
Blackpool Council and Lancashire County Council have worked together to renew the tramway from Blackpool to nearby town Fleetwood, enabling a fleet of 16 modern 'Flexity 2' trams to help people travel between Fylde Coast destinations. Heritage trams continue to...
Possibly yeah. Could maube do full conversion from St Annes to Blackpool, and then two single tracks for heavy/light rail to Lytham. That way both St Annes and Lytham keep heavy rail and get trams.
I agree that the majority of the CURRENT users of the service go to Preston and beyond. However that does not mean they make up the majority of all journeys, far from it.
As you say better transport provision between Blackpool and St Anne's is needed, as bus services are often delayed and...
Actually that's incorrect. The Fylde Coast Highways and Transport Masterplan presents data that shows the most popular travel destination from the Fylde borough is Blackpool.
Even if this wasn't true, connecting the north and south lines by tram will give residents more choice to access the...
I'll repost this from the other thread because my post still applies. I too would like to see full conversion but as has been brought up, keeping the heavy rail link is important:
A tram connection IS what is required for this line and it's what is needed to secure long term potential...
