Ticket gates at Huddersfield station to be updgraded for MCard

So the barriers still don't accept MCards (and the funding runs out at the end of March according to a staff member I spoke to...) but at least the station now has free WiFi!

    Declassified or not?

The annoyance I have with the leaflet KWVR45 quotes is the wording: "We believe this [not declassifying] is a better way of managing capacity throughout the train". No it isn't - it's a better way of avoiding paying compensation to first class ticket holders who can't sit down because First is...

Northern to introduce evening peak restrictions

I've just bought an Advance from Glasgow to Huddersfield for Tuesday 7 October and it's routed me: Glasgow 1400, Preston 1623, Bolton 1700 arr Huddersfield 1813, suggesting an Advance is valid for the last two legs even though then start and end in the affected area after 1601. The wording of...

M-Card website launched - ITSO smartcard for trains/buses in west yorkshire

My yellow annual M Card operates the barriers at Leeds except those at the centre of the row facing the steps to the overpass. It's been like that for a few months now. All the other barriers that are marked "Ticket or Smartcards" work fine for me (whether or not you can see which barriers...

    Refusal to use ticket barriers

Just a word to the wise: I was talking to one of the barrier attendants at Leeds this morning after another "Card read error" and she said that three of the barriers at the centre of the row facing the main exit (next to the Information desk) aren't working for Smartcards (despite still being...

    Destination Blinds Showing Unusual Destination

Best I can manage is a TPE 170 at Leeds that should have been going to Huddersfield with Hazel Grove on the blind instead - a station TPE doesn't serve. The driver assured me there was a fault with the blind and he was actually heading to Huddersfield!

Why the objection to using ticket gates?

I'd love to use the barriers properly. But since my paper MetroCard was replaced by a 'smartcard' I can no longer use the barriers at Huddersfield. Apparently they'll be updated in March (having only been installed last year). This can only have been done to maximise congestion in the ticket...

East Coast lifting all restrictions tomorrow?

No, but the passenger has an East Coast ticket and wants to travel on Hull Trains; East Coast have told her she can't travel on East Coast with a Hull Trains ticket. So they're answering a completely different question to the one she's asked.

East Coast lifting all restrictions tomorrow?

I appreciate they're busy, but surely the Twitter team should check what they're posting - look at this: https://twitter.com/eastcoastuk/statuses/415423709735047169

Trains that are late every day
