Yes that's how I took it and although in the end I decided to wear a tie (not a full suit though) there were others in just smart shirt and trousers. These safety tests are quite stressful so they want you to be as relaxed as possible.

Crewe guards work about 1 in 4 I think. Not sure re drivers but I assume it's a guards job you've got.

No set rules tbh. My depot is 1 in 3 approximately but there's no set pattern. You can usually get rid of them to colleagues if required anyway. Some depots it's only about 1 in 7 anyway, very few 1 in 3.

I attended as assessment day in DECEMBER 2011 and today have been invited back for further testing (reaction tests/safety based interview) so it seems they do keep your details on record! A huge surprise but a pleasant one at that. Anybody else heard anything?
