National Express have had an extremely plain livery for years and it doesn't seem to do them any harm. I suspect Megabus are trying to aim for something a little classier than their previous style...

If including Parkway stations then Tiverton Parkway may be the winner, at 7.3 miles by road from the town centre. The station it replaced, Tiverton Junction, was slightly closer at 6.4 miles.

I wouldn't call the E400 iconic, but I feel that they do usually provide a better journey than the MMC that followed.

Ironically most of the really unpleasant vehicles I've travelled on during RRS are either tired former express coaches* or service buses unsuitable for long journeys. *Supposedly accessible but in reality the wheelchair lifts were probably non-functioning.

Not many - you may find a few former front line NX vehicles that have been cascaded into their contractors' main fleets, but other than that there isn't much spare capacity with the express operations. Nat Ex don't like coaches in their livery being used on other work anyway - it could lead to...

Most accessible coaches to be found on rail replacement services are very well used examples, previously used on express work, so are more likely to fit your description than a luxury touring coach or a vehicle used for private hire where condition is often invaluable to securing repeat...

There are lots of areas where this simply isn't possible, and using diversion routes usually means stations are bypassed which then require replacement transport.
