There are several stations on the British railway network that are really two different stations on different lines which have been joined together by a walkway or footbridge or a new station building.
To start the ball rolling, I would suggest Liverpool South Parkway which is the former...
Thanks. This was the link I was looking at from National Rail.

You would think something as major as this would be up on its site, but it wasn’t.
i am due to go up to Glasgow from London Euston next week. Was checking my times and have noticed that my 09.30 departure from Euston was originally due in at Glasgow Central at 13.59. This has now be changed to 14.10. I have also noticed that several trains to and from Carstairs are to be...
Yesterday I passed through Grantham station and noticed that part of the large station building was now used as an estate agents. Given that so many Victorian built stations are no longer in use for railway business, what uses have you seen at stations? (Apart from private dwellings, cafes and...
Just got back from going on the Statesman trip to Carlisle. The loco going up was a Ckass 57, 57 316. Coming back was a 47, 47 772. Incidentally, the train was about twenty minutes late arriving at Carlisle, due us being held north of Preston for late running trains. Coming back we were early...
As it’s West Coast Railways providing the stock, I would guess that it will be top and tailed with one of their class 37s and a 47. Though you never know it could be a 33 or 57.
just found this on The Northern Rail website.

However, Trans Pennine have not said anything on their website. Presumably they wouldn’t be running trains on this route at weekends?
There’s an interesting report with photographs of the opening day of this service here.

Yesterday I came by train to visit Taunton. Having got off the Bristol train to come out of the station on the south side, my ticket was rejected at the barrier. There was no one manning the barrier, so I decided to exit the station on the north side. The same thing happened at these barriers...
I always thought it strange that there is just one platform for terminating Merseyrail trains. Why not put in a bay platform at the northern end of the island platform between platforms 4 and 7 just as there is at the southern end? This would free up platform 7 for through eastbound trains which...
I was thinking about the number of terminus stations which have been reduced from two or more platforms to now just one. For instance Newquay, Windermere and Heysham have all been reduced to just one platform from two in the past. Plus, there are plenty of through stations which have just a...
Went on the Yorkshireman trip to York yesterday with Flying Scotsman. Pleased to say that everything went smoothly with timings and no problems with the engine or photographers on the tracks. However there was one incident at Alfreton where there was a short stop to take on water. One of the...
The tour from London to Worcester is going ahead this weekend, but with Royal Scot hauling the train. They expect to have Flying Scotsman ready for the London to York trip on Saturday 4th November.

Steam Dreams had definitely said it was cancelled.

Does anyone know why the four trips with the Flying Scotsman on 24th and 27th October have been cancelled? They were taking bookings on the Steam Dreams website last week, but they have all disappeared this week.
