I had no issues with both flights. Got a window seat when checking in. An experience flying on the Q400's to say the least. Very choppy around Southampton both arriving and departing on the return flight. Weird seeing the landing gear deploy and retract as well.

At Newcastle platforms 5-8 are two physical platforms with two numbers. 5 and 7 share one platform and 6 and 8 share another.

In theory could they not use the overrun tunnel at St James? Train infront detrains at platform 2 then shunts into the overrun. The train behind then arrives on platform 2 and detrains, drivers swap over and train behind becomes the train infront. Means both can then terminate at St James.
