    Charging benches at Waterloo station

They do indeed seem to have disconnected absolutely every single one of them (I checked pretty much every one in the station when my phone was out of charge, can see the former cables just hanging in mid-air) - there used to be wireless chargers on some of the tables too. Couldn't get any...

    Identifying Suspicious Individuals

Given the current atmosphere of international relations, and the fact terrorist attacks aren't exactly uncommon in that part of London, I'm not sure those who might report could necessarily be called not "rational people" conversely?

For a phone in itself? Surely not!

    Identifying Suspicious Individuals

I don't think this guy was "auditing" - in fact he seemed a bit panicked when I walked past him on the escalator and gave him a dirty look.. Of course, anyone plotting to assist terrorism or similar might be a bit worried without weaponry on themselves? Definitely wouldn't have been a...

    Identifying Suspicious Individuals

Do Southwestern railway or associates actually do that?! Still owned by Firstgroup and MTR..

    Identifying Suspicious Individuals

There was a chap with a bobble hat and a full face mask on today visibly filming individuals for considerable periods - including myself - at Waterloo station earlier today on the mezzanine for no obvious reason, even when I replied with a thorough scowl. Ignoring the specifics of whoever this...

RAAC Concrete - Any rail infrastructure affected?

The Victorians had the right idea building everything with bricks! I've yet to find a case where they've not lasted as long as the ever-popular rusty-reinforced concrete now.. Nothing to stop you building tall structures with it either - just look at Battersea Power Station!

Useless vending machines at Ashford International

Are these dodgy vending machines referred to operated by the TOC? I know all the ones down South Western Railway are franchised out to Selecta, so they do tend to work if it's your birthday and the stars align...

RAAC Concrete - Any rail infrastructure affected?

The 1960s reinforced concrete of the Bletchley flyover wasn't considered suitable for modern purposes under East-West Rail, although I can't find many details on the precise reason?

RMT sets out talks ‘road map’ as rail services hit by fresh strike

I highly suspect the government response will be "go swivel" unfortunately!

Disruption between Carlisle and Lockerbie - Attempted robbery of Mail train (01/08/2023)

No doubt the softie mods and network rail will oppose proper punishments these days! ;)

Air purifying trial at New Street

I notice they don't quote the cost of them - can hardly be cheap... Wonder how it compares to bi-modes.

Disruption between Carlisle and Lockerbie - Attempted robbery of Mail train (01/08/2023)

£100 penalty fares? Far too mild, just arm the RPIs instead!

Disruption between Carlisle and Lockerbie - Attempted robbery of Mail train (01/08/2023)

If the answer was "yes, they have multiple alarm and defence systems" that would be an appropriate answer, otherwise we need to question why there wasn't?

    GWR at seat ordering

Shame standard class passengers don't get to witness such delights - seems a bit silly you have to be lucky on a Pullman service..

Assuming catering is retained, how can on board food and drink provision be improved cost-effectively?

Paninis are fairly easy to do, and aren't that bad done in the microwave? "Pepenoni" seems to be quite popular with Avanti at the moment for instance, surprised they don't do plain cheese and tomato like Virgin used to though? Could probably do with crustier bread however. Popular enough in...

Perhaps FirstGroup could consider applying to run the next prison contract.. 1679146162 In their last days, Virgin used to do some pretty good options on the West Coast?

    GWR at seat ordering

Is hot food available? That's still my biggest annoyance as regards to removal of the buffet.
