I'd personally like to see pay increases linked to passenger growth and freight growth across the industry.
Do this would really focus the industry on adapting to new consumer trends.
4 WGC to Sevenoaks services have been cancelled this morning. The 07:32 WGC made it to Alexandra Palace where it was cancelled. After that all the WGC to Sevenoaks trains were cancelled.

All six peak time evening Sevenoaks to WGC services cancelled tonight.
I'd like to see the PPM...
I've noticed the new Thameslink Welwyn Garden City to Sevenoaks peak time only service has a significant amount of cancellations since it started in the May timetable change. These seems to be problems with it every few days. For example this evening all TL Sevenoaks to WGC services are...
Regional and long distance operators are nearly back to 2019 passenger demand.
The problem is the South East Commuter operators and the loss of all those annual season tickets sales. Remember London has the highest percentage of jobs which can be done from remotely.
If someone is only going...
The figures were for GTR and not GA. However I expect its similar for GA.
From what I hear the long distance and regional TOCs are near back to normal in respect of passenger numbers. Its the South East TOCs which are struggling to get back to normal passenger numbers.
Passenger numbers on the...
Will Crossrail be able to stop at Tottenham Court Road, Farringdon, Liverpool Street & Whitechapel during the tube station staff strike?
I know Great Northern do not operate any trains between Moorgate & Finsbury Park on tube strike days & operate a heavily reduced service to Kings Cross.
I can't see them going to GN at this present time, since the latest passengers numbers for GTR are between 64% to 68%.
Many GTR routes are still operating an reduced timetable (eg off peak weekday Moorgate services - 2 trains per hour instead of 4 trains per hour).
In an email to my local MP...
I've noticed that performance has dropped significantly since these peak time services were added to the timetable.
Stations like New Barnet, Oakleigh Park & New Southgate do not even need 6 trains an hour at rush hour with hybrid working very popular in London.
The service worked well when...
I'm hearing reports that there will be record car journeys on the roads this easter.
I think there needs to be a review of when engineering work is undertaken on the railways.
This easter weekend would have the been the perfect opportunity to increase passenger numbers, instead we have loads...
There now seems to be a difference between commuting numbers to and from London and the rest of the UK. Just look at the DfT Covid travel stats for the tube in London and its only at 59% to 67% on weekdays now.
I live in North London and I don't know a single person that has returned to the...

Also depends how employers structure hybrid working. Some employers are just saying you need to be in the office 20 to 40% of the time in a month. A parent could spend a whole week in the office and come the school holidays spend a whole week working from home.
Many employers are now telling...
I went to the office 3 days last week. Passenger numbers on Great Northern Inners are no where near pre covid in the morning peak. 2 seats to my myself and there was even plenty of spare seats between Finsbury Park and Moorgate. Pre covid this train would have been rammed full. In addition Great...
National Rail is still only showing 2 trains an hour from both New Barnet to Finsbury Park and Winchmore Hill to Finsbury Park for the AM Peak on Monday 7 March.
I wonder if this will be updated over the weekend?
The Azumas are not really a suitable train for any journeys over 3 hours due to poor seat design. I wish UK train operators would take a trip to somewhere like Germany and travel on an ICE 3 train. The seats (especially in first class) are so comfortable, an five hour train journey is not a...
That's good news.
Was the reduction in services this week more to do with the tube strike and the closure of the Northern City Line than driver shortages?
Any idea on how many Moorgate services GN can run into Kings Cross per hour these days with 1 less platform?
