Originally there was to be a new depot S of Stirling but there was local opposition and stabling in the station saved money but presumably means that only cleaning can take place. I assume that they have to visit either Eastfield or Millerhill for toilet discharge and water.
Judging by the photo there was no need to replace for the wires - the clearance seems more than adequate. But it clearly needs replace on safety grounds - it wouldn't support the necessary raised parapets
In my experience the frequency from Edinburgh to London has always been twice that from Glasgow. It has been sustained by the large amount of traffic to and from the intermediate stations. I recall back in 66/7 getting the 08.00 from KX which would be almost empty at the start but well-loaded...
