Over three years ago now I had the opportunity to briefly speak to a train driver at Rugby. I took the chance to ask his advice about how to become a train driver and his answer was simply perseverance.
It was from there that my journey started and how true those words of advice came to be...
It was still OOS at Ashford this morning.
I think they have just changed the short formation to a different service in the morning, not sure about the afternoon.
SE have a good journey info page on their website showing formation changes
I think it was because I initially failed the MMI meaning that they were all done over three days. Thanks for the well done and good luck for your DMI :D
Hi, I was the only one on the day and it was just the tests as they were happy to accept my MMI from GTR, but it would have been at the end.
DMI and medical complete, start October 10th :D
Hi all, thank you for your comments and support.
I have been through the tests again and just been told that I have passed!
Soooooo excited and can't wait to start ??????
Cheers Mike, could you please check with SE on Tuesday that they have accepted your stage 1 and 2 on separate days and that they do not require you to take them again in a single day with them. If that turns out to be the case I can then challenge them on the decision.
It is company policy I'm told and there is no way around it.
I'm not in the railway now so there is no recourse to a union either.
I just hope this post helps someone else avoid a similar situation

Hi all, I'm not sure if this is known or not so I thought I would share this information.
SE policy for stage 1 and stage 2 trainee train driver assessments is that they MUST be taken and passed on the same day.
I passed with another TOC but on different days and assumed that this was the...
The feedback will be very generic in terms of the answers you gave, which for me was very frustrating, so be prepared for that.
They will tell you which questions you passed and those that you did not so you will know which answers they did not like.
What I did was write as much as i could...
Hi
I failed my first MMI as well and was as disappointed as you, however I stuck at it and re took it after the 6 month period and passed.
I had the same initial feelings but then got out of that attitude and went to work on my answers with the help of reading the posts on this forum...
