    Route Coverage

Her's an updated version of mine. It looks a bit better for having parts of the Great Eastern and Chiltern Mainlines, but it's still not much compared to most on here.

    Red Pen 2012

I'm guilty of the same sin so I'd better not complain! My own red/black pen has been used just once since my last post in this thread: 31st March 150125

    Mileage Competition 2012

A short journey today was enough to tip me over the thousand mark as well, 1,007.7 to be exact.

2 year old obsessed with Trains... where to go?

I wouldn't write Clapham Junction off so easily - I was entranced by the place at a similar age. Admittedly there were slammers then, but I liked the other stuff too.

    Red Pen 2012

I only ever count the unit I'm actually travelling in, but that's only because it makes it easier to enter the numbers into my database. Anyway, here are mine for the year so far: 8th January 143617 14th January 43142 29th January 220033 43139 1st February 159022 158956...

Does anyone know what menu is offered in First Class on this service?

Which lines are you hoping to do in 2012?

Thanks. :) The trip's already booked so I can't do much about the weather, but I'll certainly bring a camera along.

Which lines are you hoping to do in 2012?

I have a trip booked for the end of the week that will include Merthyr Tydfil and Shrewsbury-Chester, my first new track for the year. Beyond that, I've always wanted to do the West Highland Line, so hopefully I'll finally get round to that.

Which Service are You Likely to get a Carriage to Yourself ?

The only time I've ever had a carriage to myself was on the 1330 Carmarthen-Milford Haven (presumably originating in Manchester?) back in June. It was actually quite busy until Haverfordwest, but everyone else got off there. Other than that, evening Waterloo-Exeter services are normally very...

    Mileage Competition 2012

January was a pretty poor month for me, but this month has got off to a better start with a trip to Chichester today bringing the total up to 386 miles. Well, I think it's alright, anyway.

    Exeter Central-Brighton fares advice

Hmm, I've asked them and they want to limit the journey to one change and have flexibility, so via Clapham Junction would seem to be the only option.

    Exeter Central-Brighton fares advice

I think they would prefer to take a direct train from Exeter to Clapham Junction and another one from there to Brighton to minimise changes. Pkkelly's post would indicate that there isn't really a better option than the normal return, but thanks for trying.

    First Train of 2012

For me, it was 143617 on 08/01 for the epic journey that is Exeter St Davids to Polsloe Bridge :D

    Exeter Central-Brighton fares advice

I'm making this query on behalf of two other people (both adults) who I know. They want to travel from Exeter Central to Brighton via Clapham Junction after 11:00 on the 6th of February, and return after 13:00 on the 8th. They are only interested in off-peak fares, not advance. One of them has...

Favorite Station that is NOT your own

Clapham Junction. I've always been impressed by the sheer number of trains that pass through.
