Agreed! I only paid £1 in a fancy coffee shop for their filter coffee (black) this morning near Manchester Oxford Road before 9.30am - https://www.fdncoffee.com/location. And the discount for using your own cup at other times is welcome too!
I spotted 350409 at Manchester Oxford Road in LNWR livery with the 1st class stripe forming the delayed 0821 to Manchester Airport (0422 from Glasgow Central). Very unusual to see a newly rebranded train on the 'wrong' lease - usually it's the other way round.
You are right, they had switched the stopper to platform 5, and 195 001 formed the 0912 semi-fast. I did think the assignment of the bay platform was arbitrary at that time of the morning, surely the stopper should always use the bay but the train forming the 0912 is usually in the way.

Surely some industrial equivalent to a combined steam mop and vacuum cleaner (i.e. the Bissell Vac & Steam - great on wood/laminate flooring, if a little noisy).
I regularly travel from Levenshulme to Euston, and changing at either Stockport or Manchester shows up in the journey planner - is there an easement for this, or does this not count as doubling back? Never been questioned when they manually check tickets at Piccadilly.
The ticket prices LVM...
A return ticket is a 'single' ticket, not two separate ones surely? This is certainly the case for delay repay calculations! If you were using a return ticket you would have been asking the TM to upgrade a portion of a ticket (OUT or RTN) as a weekend upgrade fare, not the whole ticket.

The best station example I've been through relatively frequently: City Thameslink - funded by the City of London, now managed by Thameslink but they seemingly have not been allowed to change the signage or brand it.
