Shake ! Rattle ! and Roll ! our old friend the pacer made a guest appearance
on the cumbrian coast line this morning must of been off barrow at about 7.00
It gave me a great idea for next year's children in need how about we all chip in and hire a 142 and get sponsored for making the...
I don't know the in's and out's of franchises but someone i know who works on the railway said drs are interested in running the cumbria coast services. It would be nice to travel on the loco hauled stock used for the sellafield worker's train on the barrow-carlisle run rather than the 153/156's...
If a tesco store is planned for the lancaster uni site is there a passing loop already in place nearby to stable the tesco train or would one have to be put in ?
If not... the way the railway is with money at the moment can't see them splashing out for a station and a loop

Yeah i remember a burger king at Preston it was next to the old bar always a good atmosphere in the bar with the jukie in the corner on a Saturday evening with a mixture of local soaks, spotters, and a few home bound footie fans and maybe a Scottish family on the way back from Blackpool
I would catch the Blackpool-York 158 from Preston-Leeds on a Monday
a couple of Years back and the amount of People left stood on the Platform on Stations West of Leeds sometimes was amazing.got in to Leeds around 9ish so I'd guess there would be plenty of Offices with empty Seats
Yeah i think it would hold some worth maybe like you said you might have to
relocate for a Crossing Keeper then after that grade 2/3 Signaller i filled in a few applications over 2/3 Years before i got anywhere
Maybe try for a Croosing Keeper's post first just to get your foot in the door
i got a start as a Crossing Keeper and as i was waiting for a start date a Signallers job came up so the LOM put me in for that,so started in a box that way.........you might not need to take another assessment.
Yeah thanks for the welcome,In a beer haze at the time but it must of been that connex service as it did start out of a bay platform and also passed kensington olympia and the one near Chelsea's ground might of been west brompton ?
I travelled to Gatwick in 2001 from the north west changing at Rugby then direct to gatwick found it a spacious train and a lot more appealing than a Euston-Victoria transfer, would this of been a Brum-Gatwick LM ?anyway i can't find it on any timetable
Also remember in the late 80s a...
