The 33/1 will be doing push-pull with the VEP as the 71 is dead since there is
no 3rd rail installed at BH.
Info on the Class 71, a very rare treat to see this loco:

Love to see the 71 working the new "Brighton Belle" service, that...
WNXX website has said the only Class 06 left and on Class 02 is leaving the Museum of Science and Industry, Manchester shortly.
Does anyone know where the loco's may be moving to.?

The 31 will be a lovely addition to the railway for their gala, i'll be there for the sounds of a light thrash.
I was there for their Class 33 "toad" push / pull service, their triple shunter service & an "ED" sandwich train a few years ago. Class 33 -73 -33 Perfect southern trash :D
That's such a shame if they do go on to Europe, why not keep them for freight services as the "Electric Cord" is being built in a few years time..
Will there be a farewell tour as this will be very popular.
Glad the Mid Hants are back on the Diesel Gala calender after a few years away. :D
I'll go to:
Swanage
Mid Hants
Spa Valley
GWR both summer and winter gala's
SVR
As i did not know the loco's history till just now, it seems to be worth repairing 47 500 if the fire damage is not to extensive:
47500 was an obvious choice to be one of the 47's (with 47079, 47484, 47628, plus Class 50 50007) to be specially treated for the GWR 150th anniversary...
As this tour will be passing though Kensington Olympia near to 11am, The The British Pullman Evening Diner (VSOE) will be as well, anyone know the time of when the VOSE will be at "Olympia"
Route:
London Victoria (pu) - Kensington Olympia - Willesden - Acton - Kew East Junction - Staines -...
A video taken of the stored loco's at Crewe:
http://www.britishrailways.tv/train-videos/2012/crewe-electric-depot-withdrawn-locomotives/
Apart from 90 050 (how bad is the fire damage) none of the loco's below look bad enough to be stored & wasted for years, DBS should not be lazy & get...
If a loco carries a nameplate, it should always be in the middle. Why don't you ask DRS & West Coast on why they decided to move the plate into a corner.
I was on this train from Basingstoke & it turned out to be a great day, had a walk round the East Docks for 1/2 hour.
Shame the traction was not a top n tail 73 or 33 to make it a bit more southern feel. :D
A few pic's:
Southampton East Docks:
Old Rails at East Dock...
