    Freightliner Various Trainee Drivers

Yeah, it’s the not knowing. It’s all very well getting to ‘the front of the queue’ but until you get that contract/start date, it means diddly squat. Either way, all the best to the Trafford Park massive!

    Freightliner Various Trainee Drivers

Had my medical 3 weeks ago but heard nothing. I’m down for Trafford Park too. I have to work 2 months notice so I presume I’ll be on a later course unless I failed my medical and they’ve not told me :-(

Food for thought for those applying - Risk of over preparing for the driver tests

Thanks mate (and train safe). I’m a grafter so I’m sure I’ll be fine :-)

Food for thought for those applying - Risk of over preparing for the driver tests

“There are some people who do exceptionally well, out of the people I know, the over-50's seem to be some of the best performers.” Yay! I’m 51. There was me worrying it was a disadvantage :)

    Freightliner Various Trainee Drivers

Hi Bonzo, I’ve progressed with the same time frame. However, I had my medical a couple of weeks ago. Still not had any feedback since then but I’m used to waiting. Hope you hear something soon!

Food for thought for those applying - Risk of over preparing for the driver tests

Really good thread if a little sobering especially as I’m hoping to start my training soon (job offer with medical result pending). My approach to the assessments was not to try and train/prepare. I came on here to establish what they entailed but, at the end of the day, as much as I...

Apprentice Train Driver - Crosscountry - Multiple Locations (09/02/2021)

Depends on the company but I got a job offer dependent on a medical and a DBS check (at the end of the process).

Apprentice Train Driver - Crosscountry - Multiple Locations (09/02/2021)

Think I read somewhere that, on average, there’s 1,000 applicants per single trainee position. I’d imagine, in the current climate, that figure could be conservative!

    Previous career?

Fingers crossed I’ll be starting my training soon (awaiting medical results). I’m 51 and have spent 27 years working as a graphic designer. I think the job you’ve been in is irrelevant provided you can pass the assessments and display the appropriate transferable skills in your interviews. As...

    Freightliner Various Trainee Drivers

That’s odd. I had my medical last week. Fingers crossed for both of us!

    Freightliner Various Trainee Drivers

I might be wrong and I don’t want to ring any alarm bells but some of us have had offers pending a medical and some have head nothing. I can only think that once the medicals are passed (or not), everyone else will be added to the dreaded pool provided their DMI went well. I reckon all will...

Apprentice Train Driver - Crosscountry - Multiple Locations (09/02/2021)

Would I be right in thinking that they’ll only consider people who have already passed all the assessments? I can’t believe that candidates will have time to pass all the tests in time to start in May/June?!

Apprentice Train Driver - Crosscountry - Multiple Locations (09/02/2021)

Hi mate, I’ve had a job offer from an FOC for a trainee driver role. I’m 51! As long as you’re under 60 you can switch.

Nope, not a sausage. I’m getting a sinking feeling given the new lockdown. Hope I’m wrong and there’s contact soon!

    Freightliner Various Trainee Drivers

Cheers mate. It was advertised as Peak Forest but everyone’s telling me it’s actually Tunstead which puts us in the same boat (or train)!
