There’s a very proportion of the preserved HSTs that are EMT/EMR, with four examples, versus three FGW/GWR and one VTEC (which also spent time on EMR). Are there any other groups/railways with public plans to preserve power cars?

I think they’ve said 315820 was one of the last to receive an overhaul, so presumably is one of those in best condition.

No only 142006 from the welsh ones survives, and that is first batch....

I'm not sure. I've asked the same question on here too. It would be nice if some of those were saved as there aren't many of the second batch of 142s (142051-096) in preservation compared to the first batch. All I do know is that 142018 is now preserved by the Wensleydale Railway, and will...
