I wonder why not the EGIP journey time of 42 minutes?
Is it because Edinburgh > Dunblane/Alloa services aren't using Class 385s yet and the rolling stock on the line isn't fast enough to support they fastest possible timetable yet?
I'm quite looking forward to what I assume would be Haymarket...
It’s been a challenging week for all people and businesses, you can’t plan for all eventualities.
What if someone’s eyes had fallen out, or their arms disappeared? Help would’ve been called for.
I’m staying with family who live in Shenfield and we were taking about crossrail. I’ve read a lot about it and have kept up to date with all the news I can (more so than most local residents... I assume).
The TFL rail line between Brentwood and Shenfield was obviously closed for quite a long...
I'd love to see it, however just because something costs less than Crossrail, that doesn't make it worthwhile.
Crossrail will have benefits for 10/15 Million+ people, if it cost £1 billion less to tunnel under Edinburgh, it wouldn't be money well spent.
Crossrail is also partly funded by...
To go even simpler (from the already too simple and ungrammatical form) would mean it'd lose any benefit.
The announcements are presumably for people who:
are unfamiliar with the system/route
have fallen asleep
require extra assistance (e.g. blind?)
Just having a voice randomly shout out...
That'll be related to the work on Millerhill - which will be the depot for the 385's -no?
380s were going to be used from June > December, presumably kept at their normal depots.
"Next Station Brentwood" sounds awful, doesn't seem like a good use of English
Why doesn't it say
"The next station is: Brentwood" or even "Next Station is: Brentwood"
The lack of a colon after "Next Station" on the screen is also weird.
Taken in portrait instead of landscape too, just so we can see more of the road.
I'm more concerned about the total lack of news about the actual electrification of the line though.
The EGIP twitter feed has gone absolutely silent about it.
Could this problem end up being a significant...
Not quite on topic, but is there a large Crossrail thread? I've searched but don't see anything.
Seems odd that such a large project isn't being discussed at length here?
The 2nd picture seems quite different to the other three.
What's the point of the door on the front of the train? I assumed there'd be a corridor to allow multiple units to connect.
Do keep in mind that post-EGIP journey times between Waverley and Queen St will be 42 minutes, people won't be on these trains for very long. A big change from the current almost hour between EDB and GLQ.
Haymarket to Queen St will be just over 35 minutes; those that get on / off at...
The new May version of the Edinburgh > Glasgow timetable doesn't appear any different; is there another - private? - timetable that'll be introduced with electric services?
Does anyone know anything else about this? Can't find any detailed info, but it would seem like quite the mess.
