I was just looking at the SVR Twitter and there are no trains running between Bridgnorth and Arley. Someone has said that a stem loco was derailed by a fallen tree, but is this the case? I'm not at the railway at the moment but I am just interested.
From the SVR Twitter:

Hello all,
Having seen this on the GWSR website, I was wondering if anyone else was going and what they were most interested in. I'm looking forward to seeing 50035 Ark Royal, which is one of the preserved 50s I haven't seen yet!
Last year, there was a Hymek and a Warship, and I'm a bit sad to...
Hello all,
Upon looking at the Videoscene webpage for the SVR Diesels 30 Years DVD, I found that the following image of a Class 42 "Warship" was on the cover.
Apologies for the poor quality.
Is it just me, or is this a slightly lighter version of the BR blue livery? I was just wondering. If...
Hello all,
Having looked at www.alanthomsonsim.com, I found that the XC Route (also known as Birmingham - Bristol) is apparently being "enhanced" and this route, which is "in development" according to the website, will include the Cotswold Line.
Here is the image which is being shown on the...
Hello all,
Having read through a lot of these threads, I have seen a lot of people mention the different stock which will be heading for the National Railway Museum when it is taken out of service. I'd like to have a current list here so that people such as myself who are interested can have a...
Hello all,
Having been looking through YouTube videos of people talking about the days of BR in the 1980s, apparently there were cases of some classes of traction being more popular than others. E.g. popuar model railway YouTuber IC82 has said that the Class 58 was regarded as "rubbish" by many...
Hello all,
As many of you may have heard today* (potentially through Sam's Trains on YouTube), the model railway company DJ Models has gone "voluntarily" into liquidation.
DJ Models is known for their perhaps not perfect quality models (the J94 springs to mind as one which was not...
Hello all,
If the Labour party did get in in the next general election, and they did nationalise the railways, what would happen to the liveries on the current rolling stock? My first thought was that just removing any branding, like new TOCs do when they take over from an old operator. However...
Hello all,
Having gone out to see the Great Britain XII Railtour today (Day 8), I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts / information which they would like to express here, or maybe people would just like to talk about the railtour.
I'll start the conversation by mentioning the fact that...
From https://londonist.com/london/transport/steam-train-waterloo-windsor-mayflower :
I heard of this yesterday and wondered if anyone else knew anything about it. Apparently, the service going to run three times a day between Waterloo and Windsor, and will be hauled by LNER "Mayflower". However...
Hello,
Whilst looking through Twitter this morning, I saw a tweet from Moleman978, a popular Train Sim Youtuber, saying that a Northern City Line (NCL) for TS has been released. It is essentially an extension to the ECML South (London King's Cross - Peterborough) route from DTG.
I have...
Hello,
I was looking through my Modern Locomotives Illustrated just now and one of the issues (which I don't have) was about UK Traction Overseas. I was wondering about what sort of engines were exported, and where they are now. I'm not too fussed about steam engines. I'm more interested in...
Hello all.
After reading an article about how to create a GBRf "50" in this month's edition of Model Rail, I thought that I would have a go.
After posting a thread about where to find a bodyshell for a Class 50, I was encouraged to create a thread to update those who may be interested on my...
Hello,
Last year, I got the Bachmann Sliver Jubilee set, which included a Class 47 and "Jubilee" (steam engine). These are both excellent models, but the "Jubilee"s coupling rods somehow ended up in a, shall we say, not-normal position. I didn't take any photos, but from memory the coupling rods...
Hello,
Having read this month's edition of Model Rail magazine, I've decided that I would like to try making a GBRf Class 50. I already own a Hornby model, but I don't want to repaint this one as I like the BR Large Logo livery which it currently has. In a perfect world, I am looking for a...
The Cotswold Explorer railtour is running today between Dorridge and Oxford. If you have any thoughts/things to say on this subject, say them here if you wish.
Can anyone confirm that the return service will be the
126Y 1735 Oxford - Dorridge? (EDIT)
This service is being hauled by GWR "Castle"...
According to the May 2019 edition of Railways Illustrated, there is a charter (?) service, run by DRS, between Banbury and Penzance on the 13th of April 2019 (next Saturday at the time of writing). I know that charters and the like very rarely show up on RTT this long before the day of running...
I went out trainspotting yesterday (24th March 2019) and I saw the
1P63 1432 Hereford to Oxford
at Kingham. As I am interested in such things, I have just looked at RTT to see what the headcode for the service was. I found this information, but RTT also said:
"This service was cancelled between...
Having heard about the "Cotswold Venturer" railtour, hauled by Flying Scotsman and running on the 15th of June, I tried to look up the service in question on RTT. However, it didn't show up. Having used RTT for the Cotswold Venturer before, does it appear on-the-day of the railtour, or does it...
(Apologies if this is in the wrong forum)
When I go trainspotting, I use multiple different ways of recording the units and engines that I have seen. I use specially-made books (think Ian Allan), notebooks and my mobile phone, but I am interested to hear your views. I have seen other similar...
