Hi. Are the class 755's due to do more than rural services as I've had a quick look at post May there is the need for approx 25 per weekday. It leaves a lot leftover...
A couple of times I've heard this arriving into Kings Cross. "We are now arriving into Kings Cross where this train terminates approximately 5 minutes early. Apologies for any inconvenience this may cause you."
Once on a Swanline service made of double 153's we overshot Pyle. Driver announced that only one of the dogboxes brakes applied. I thought this was odd as we'd stopped at Bridgend no problem. After a few minutes we set back and doors opened. Driver detached and reattached and off we went with no...
It does for this journey thank you. Is there a resource or website that shows permitted routes of the "any permitted". A ticket from Glasgow to Edinburgh wont allow via Carlisle (I presume) for example...
Hi. I presume this has been asked before but is there a website which shows the valid routes you can taken between two stations. Eg if I had a return from Stevenage to London could I go via Welwyn and/or Hertford?
Thameslink's loop trains all terminate at Sutton and have a change of headcode, despite running to and from St Albans, so are technically two different services.

Class 142's to Carlisle????
Most certainly have. A Mersey rail one to boot. Had the luxury of the 37 loco hauled to Leeds and the 142 back. That's going back a while now.
On an explore Wales pass a few years ago I had double 153 Cardiff to Swansea which then formed a HoW and went all the way to Shrewsbury. Loved every minute of it.
No changes: Rome to Palermo 13 hours. The train was split and shunted onto the ferry and the reattached on the other side. As I and the train stayed together on the ship I count this as no changes.
With changes: Carbis Bay to Whitley Bridge. I wonder if that ticket has been sold since?
