    Are GTR finished?

So to go into full conspiracy mode, is this a trial for all TOCs to follw eventually - provoking a general rail strike which would be unpopular & lay the groundwork for de-unionising the whole industry?

    Are GTR finished?

So GTR are actually doing all this on DfT orders? 'DOO at all costs'?

    Are GTR finished?

With all the driver sickness/strike problems caused by their war on their staff they're having, and the huge disruption that it's causing, is there any way that the disputes - and the disruption - can end short of GTR going the way of Connex & having their franchise stripped & nationalised? If...

    14.33 Brighton - Southampton today (07.04.16)

How did it get there by mistake?! Did it want a change of scenery & escape with no one seeing? :p

    Future potential Northern connect services

With all the effort Arriva are going to to differentiate Northern Connect from the rest of Northern, I'm wondering whether Connect is being prepared to become a separate franchise of its own at the next franchise round.

Wires down at St Neots (28/03)

Forgive me if this is a silly question, but why don't we make more use of third rail? It must be more sturdy than overhead lines :/

    TFL bus guide leaflets

So all of those are made in printed leaflet form? I thought the big maps were the only printed bus information TFL made.

    TFL bus guide leaflets

Bit of an unusual question but here goes: I have a TFL-produced leaflet called 'Your guide to bus services from Kingston'. It contains a spider map of the bus routes that serve Kingston, some first & last service info, an index, & a town centre map. What I want to know is, are these available...

TfL to take over most, if not all London suburban services

That'd be Network South East then...

Is platform one considered prestigious at some stations?

If anything goes into platform 1 at Worthing, it's a sure sign something's cocked up on the line :p Only seen it used in times of disruption.

    Trivia> Trivia!!

The absurd numbering system at Temple Meads. How did it happen?

Victoria to Marylebone - how long?

Sorry - made it platform to platform in 16 minutes Vic - Bakerloo :)

Victoria to Marylebone - how long?

Don't care which line - just the quickest. Is 24 minutes enough to make it?
  14. S

Victoria to Marylebone - how long?

As it sounds - which is the quickest way to go from Victoria to Marylebone by tube, & how long would that take? Thanks in advance :)

Worthing-Chatham via Tonbridge & Strood - why no fares?

Uh? My timetable has trains arriving from Redhill at xx:48, & leaving Tonbridge at xx:04?

Worthing-Chatham via Tonbridge & Strood - why no fares?

So Worthing-Redhill-Tonbridge-Strood-Chatham-Lewisham-Denmark Hill-Clapham-Worthing would be alright on the £13.55 non-London fare? Makes sense as if you'd bought the ticket without using an online planner, common sense would take you via Tonbridge.

Worthing-Chatham via Tonbridge & Strood - why no fares?

So could it be that coming from Worthing somehow causes it to fail? Can't see how as I've been to Maidstone via Redhill/Tonbridge before. And presumably if it is valid I can come in via Tonbridge & back via Denmark Hill, useful as the hourly Strood-Tonbridge times aren't very convenient.
  18. S

Worthing-Chatham via Tonbridge & Strood - why no fares?

Does that mean it fails the Routing guide? And does that last line mean you think any guard would just ok it anyway?
  19. S

Worthing-Chatham via Tonbridge & Strood - why no fares?

Doesn't make much sense, as it's surely the most direct non-London route. Also you say the official non-London route is via Clapham & Denmark Hill - where are they if not London?

Worthing-Chatham via Tonbridge & Strood - why no fares?

I fess it's not valid because of needing to double back twice - at Redhill & Strood. Thanks anyway :)
