Grand Central - Free First Class Pass for MPs

MPs getting free travel is nothing new, but the fact its making the news is. While MPs have to declare such 'gifts' it is normally 'kept quiet', only those who care to look at the MPs' Register of Interests, would have noticed it. For example:- Linda Riordan - Labour MP for Halifax...

Pacer replacement contract ... any news?

On another note can people read the information in the links as they are asking questions that are already answered in the FoI requests.

Pacer replacement contract ... any news?

While we can all sit here and discuss what may or may not happened to the DMUs that are freed up by electrification, has anyone thought about standing up and fighting to make sure they are used to replace the Pacers? An earlier comment made reference to whether or not Scotland would release...

There is no need to order a single DMU to replace the class 142. One Northern Train Driver has had the brains to ask the right FoI questions and found over 100 DMUs 'going spare'. Heres a snippit of an email of his thats doing the rounds: 26 class 150 vehicles currently going of lease...

    MK4 Grounding C1998

I can help but think that if those 317s at Doncaster were opperating a service to London they would have Kings Cross on the blind, not Special.

    French Ticketing Advice

With TGV and Tezo it is perfectly possible for them to be sold out on the day as Reservations are Compulsory and once all the seats are sold there are no more. As for how much you will pay on the day for these services, the most expensive fare quoted on a query will most likely be the one you...

    Sandy derailment 1998

Almost correct. What happend after Sandy was the HSTs operated a 125mph service between Kings Cross and Newcastle, the obvious exceptions being those HSTs heading south from Aberdeen/Inverness. Some 91s+MkIVs operated a 80mph service between Kings Cross and the north. Northern Spirit...

Krakow (Poland) to Berlin (Germany) by train

The days of armed guards are long gone. You will still get the Border Guards and some times the local Police showing there faces. As for getting into the other coaches, the Sleeping car attendant might put a stop to it, but nothing more than that. It looks like your coaches will get...
