Yeah and she wants to do it again but go to Fort William on the Sleeper instead.
I Wish I would have suggested it to her 9 years ago when we met now but I never thought in a million years she would like it.
For her birthday in February we are going Horwich to Bolton, Bolton to Glasgow...
I suppose my favourite ever time was just a couple of weeks ago.
On Friday 19th Nov we caught the 14:46 from Horwich Parkway to Manchester Piccadilly, not much special about that normally but the service was the Northern Trains Adelante train, which was also the first time I had ever been on...
I have thought about going on this train myself one day for the experience of it. The advance fare is not bad IIRC.
However the one thing that puts me off is that I believe it will be a Voyager on that route?
13 mins is bad enough on one of them let alone 13 hours. Now if it was a HST we...
I am hoping that will work with one of my other hobbies, Rollercoasters.
I have just lost all interest in them at the moment, there are two reasons I think for that. Firstly the rollercoaster forums seem to be full of people who have petty arguments and dont respect opinion at all. Something...
Yesterday we booked on East Coast from Inverness to York in first class on Feb 28th at £85.30 for the two of us which I think is a great price.
Today the price is £85.40 for standard class where it was £39 yesterday and £104.30 in first class.
Just goes to show you have to be pretty quick...
We have travelled down to London Euston from Preston this morning in first class and yet again due to a lack of staff if anyone wanted cuppa they had to go down to coach C and join a very long queue of people (mostly first class passengers) who wanted to get a drink.
This seems to be...
Can you imagine if a supermarket became a franchise holder for a route?
You could have Tesco Finest for First class travel.
Tesco standard class for standard, strangely enough:lol:
Finally you could have the Tesco value class, for cheap as chips fares you get to stand in an old coal...
On the face of it I have to agree that the justice dished out was very lenient.
If a car driver was to ignore red lights at a pedestrian crossing and knock down a few people would they get away with it like seems to be the case in these two instances?
By going onto a crossing when they...
I sometimes wonder the same myself when I travel with Virgin from Manchester to London.
The other Friday I went on the 15:55 to London Euston which was a very busy train. Not one sign of anyone checking tickets at Manchester, on the train or at Euston!!
Most times the conductor comes...
Thats a really tragic story.
I think a lot of the time people don't think or are just not aware of any implications from actions they may do like this or riding bikes on platforms.
RIP
We travelled with W/S for a day out in September.
On the way down we went down in the old MK3 coaches, the staff were pretty great and the journey was really nice as well.
Coming back we were in the new refurbished coaches, the train was overfull which made us very gratefull for our...
I agree with a lot of that. The service can be very hit and miss at weekends. One girl came through about 3 times while some others only do the once around Stoke. On another occasion when there was nobody to serve to first class the conductor did it himself.
Hi,
All you will get is tea/coffee and some biscuits. You will not get any food as such but for £15 for adults and £5 for children is worth the extra room and quiet in my view.
