Never mind advance tickets, all dates from 4 to 16 January inclusive are "greyed out" on Avanti's and other booking websites if you want to book any ticket on Avanti's network. You simply can't progress a booking because the date selection is the first step. Anyone know why this is?

Sorry, the train / coach seat graphics showing what is, or is not, available are available on the Avanti website. You just don’t seem to be able to use it. Book a ticket, ask for a seat reservation, it gives you one, then if you want to change it, click on the big bar that says “Seat Selector”...
