Products and services where the new version is not as good or has significant disadvantages as the old

True, but 2FA is so much more secure. Not having it really leaves you open to various types of attacks.

    Varamis Rail Class 321s & 325s”

I can't imagine the station is happy with this eyesore.

It would depend on the cost to refurb a building like this. I'd imagine with the age / condition that might make it incredibly expensive and the high end chains might instead look at new build / converting a department store etc. instead. I also imagine that a high end hotel these days will...

Companies That You Expect to Disappear Soon

"Modella, which has snapped up a string of struggling high street retailers in recent years, paid only £10m upfront to WH Smith, according to documents circulated to its creditors. The remaining £32m was left contingent on TG Jones’ future cash flows." Yes, was legal. I'm guessing WHS wanted...

That's what Britannia (or Elite Hotels for their ones pretending not to be Britannia) are good at. Taking a really nice hotel and letting it fester. Although I will say they've been making improvements across the estate of the last year or two.

Companies That You Expect to Disappear Soon

Well, bearing in mind they never paid the full amount for the purchase, believe it sold for around £40m but they only paid £10m and have told WHS they are not getting any more. I imagine the idea will be to keep the profitable stores for a short amount of time until a buyer can be found or if...

Companies That You Expect to Disappear Soon

I think the bigger issue for Poundland is a number of issues, the main being that they just can't compete on range and price with the likes of Home Bargains and B&M and due to all the store closures now it's much likely that a person will have a B&M / HB nearer than the Poundland. Also, they've...

Yes, that's a good shout, but for some reason I find the taste of a cold drink out of a ceramic cup a bit weird. I'm an odd one, though :D Absolutely, thankfully gone are the days where you're walking from machine to machine only to find that someone has attempted to rip open the cash box and...

I'm fairly sure many adults also drink the juice. But... urgh, I agree! So many now are watered down garbage. A hotel orange juice alongside my breakfast was one of my favourite things in a hotel - especially how you had to drink one glass at the orange machine and then bring another back to...

    Budget hotels discussion

I think I've obviously just been lucky as I reguarly 'outstay' my welcome in a hotel room and have never been disturbed :D

I think I might actually be the only person who likes the car parking apps. Especially as more and more move to the NPP standard. Means I no longer have to walk to the shops to split a note because the price has gone up and the fact at Pay & Display car parks if I decide to stay a bit longer I...

    Budget hotels discussion

I might do after all this press information, but if I'm honest I've stayed in hundreds of hotel rooms and never had anyone walk in so it's never been a thought for me. I doubt anyone would really want to walk in to my room whilst I'm in the shower.

Free Bus Travel for young people: Soon to be in England.

Some really interesting points you've made here and I agree with the majority of them. To add my own 2p from observations but also as a Dad of a young(ish) family what I have certainly found over the summer holidays which have now just ended where I live I have had more days out with the kids...

But that's the point, no one is discounting your view as a driver. Just pointing out that the drivers view isn't the only one to consider. Passenger views (including those who have kids) and kids themselves views are also important.

I am not dismissing your experience, I am merely saying that your experience is as a child of a working class family - from an unknown number of years ago - whereas my experience is of being a single working parent of three children within the last ten years. Whilst I was also the child of a...

This could quite possibly be the best bus journey in the UK. Hope you enjoy the journey!

When did I say your experience doesn't count? I was merely pointing out that I am currently a parent who is in the target group for who these incentives are supposed to help (and they do.)

Of course there are many ways, but that doesn't mean that this one doesn't also help. Again, I say this as someone who has been a working class parent (still is in many ways, but better off now) and not from recollection or years gone by experience.
