Don Coffey cab ride video discussion

Also a channel called I think 'freightlinedriver'or something similar where he uses a camera fixed to his hat! Very interesting, although a bit disconcerting when he suddenly swivels round to look out of the side window! Mostly of south/south east plus Acton and cricklewood etc:

Faults with Class 70 Powerhaul P616 Engines

The class 73 loco's had problems way back in that when they didn't use the diesel engine for a long period, the big-end bearings suffered from brinnelling due to the vibrations from track inequalities.

    Cats on the Underground

Re previous post, this obviously also applies to Southern and any other conductor rail system. Also to Tramlink etc: although not so likely to be contacted by livestock.

    Cats on the Underground

The current on L U is D C as you say,but is not particularly well smoothed(not necessary for application ) and has a strong ripple on it from the A C supply. This would sound the same to a hum seeking animal.

Mods note - split from this thread: https://www.railforums.co.uk/threads/mk-3-ex-fgw-first-class-being-used-for-a-thai-restaurant.213640/ For a long time, there was a Mk1 coach down on the pavement near Deptford station in use as a snack bar--don't know if it's still there.

Are there any photos extant of L U tube stock crossing the Forth Bridge on their way for overhaul in a Scottish dockyard (cant remember the name)?

    Two Sussex Questions

Surely this track-bed should be retained---- it's an obvious case that it might be needed for a direct route in the future ,not completely obliterated by buildings etc:--but then this is the short-term lack of vision prevalent in the 50/60's by jobsworths in bowler hats and wire-rimmed specs...

Trivia: Is Newport scrapping more trains than it makes?

Don't seem to really make anything in this country now.
