Genius... I grew up with his music through each genre. We will never see anyone like him, he did everything within music and all self taught. He wrote for others which became huge hits.
I am still stunned at the loss of a music star. RIP
Thank you everyone who advised me where to go and on what trains.
Going on Le Shuttle was brilliant, apart from French side and enormous queues to get on one back home.
On the Saturday it was a bit mad but I went to Dusseldorf and Bielefeld, nice and sunny day but not much sightseeing apart...
I am going to Dusseldorf on one of the days and as Wuppertal is not that far I think we should get a train there and do some investigating, thanks 30907, great idea.
I am going to Germany next month to visit my son and family.
He knows my love of trains and that I have not been on a train in several years, so he wants to take me on some day trips especially on the Ice train.:D
Has anyone got any ideas or have they traveled on the system and know some...
Thanks for all the help.
The book "Scenes from the past: volume 10, Railways in and around Bolton", by Bill Simpson. Foxline Publishing does anyone have an ISBN number I can`t find it to buy.
There really good, thank you, especially seeing the iron bridge that seemed to go on for ages when I was running along it when very little. Probably when I became interested in trains seeing the whole of Bolton station on that bridge.
What I can`t find though are pictures in the 1960`s.
I am trying to find photos of the inside of the station, ticket office , platforms etc for the station in the 1960`s.
I can remember the Port cochere at the front before it was removed but I can`t find anything about the ticket office and view before you went to the platforms.
Hope someone can...
Got a telescope for Christmas and while I have not been on here I have been watching the Peregrines on the web cams all over the country, very interesting.
No facebook, on twitter, don`t understand snapchat but its on my android phone anyway.
Love books not kindle.
Love the fact records (vinyl) are making a comeback, I can dust them off and play them without my kids laughing now.
I really enjoyed last weekends games and can`t wait for this weekend. I think its interesting that all are so close this year but I think for me those that got off with a win was France.
Thrilling or what !!!
Not a clue what I am doing and late to post.
