GWR NIGHT RIVIERA AND CLASS 57/6 HISTORY QUESTIONS.

The Mark 3 sleeper coaches entered service on the newly reintroduced "Night Riviera" on 13 July 1983. I understand 47500 operated the 'Down' service (from London), but can anyone confirm if the 'Up' was worked by 47551? The Class 57/6 ( 2 -5 ) locomotives were delivered in late 2003 and 2004...

Has the use of air-con stock on railtours affected bookings ?

Quite a simple question really as per title. I've seen a few railtours cancelled due to lack of bookings this past 9 months , one was even steam which not too long ago was unheard of. I'm on the CME this Saturday so will see what it's like !

Trivia: What's in a good coaching name?

I don't normally do trivia but a random thought made me think to put this out there. Back in the day, local coach companies would not only use " name" of " place " Coaches Ltd as a fleetname. There were some good stylish names .... From my past , Maid of the Mountains, Morning Star, Overland...

GWR West Fleet IEP Cascade Update

Today, 24/6/16, and info received from Fleet Engineering Manager in person. With the well known IEP delays, the number of 165/166 units retained at Reading depot will increase. The rest for Bristol as planned for Cardiff-Portsmouth. This means not all 158s will head west so it looks...
