I'm sure our paths must have crossed O L. I used to be friendly with John Stevens, way back in the days when he was on station duty at Liv St, before he became a driver. I haven't seen him for some while, is he still around?
Ain't that a fact!
Plus the air operated internal doors....they are either jammed open, won't open on the button, or flap open and shut of their own accord for the whole journey.....
When I get on a 317/7 at Liverpool St to go home in the evening and it is obviously one of the few...
I may have been mistaken (it was early), but I could have sworn it was 023/ 025 I got on at 0600 this morning......:-?

And the good news is, there is therefore only a 1 in 9 chance I will have to get on a 317/6 this evening......(2 in 9 chance...
My normal train (0615 ex SSD) this morning was comprised of 023 and 025.
That's the highest numbered pair I've seen so far and didn't look like they have been in service very long (very few scuff marks on the yellow warning strips in the doorway).
For the sake of accuracy, pretty much all of the 'fast' (don't start me on that one again) services have at least Bishops Stortford or Harlow Town stops in, some have both, and some of the morning peak 'up' services have four stops in apart from Tottenham Hale. Not exactly 'fast'.
As I...
'Downs' are indeed mostly timetabled at 12 minutes.
By quoting 'Tottenham Hale to Liverpool Street', I was referencing the 'up' services.
My morning train is the 0615 ex SSD. It is timetabled at 16 minutes TH to LivST, but frequently is nearer 20. One of the worst trains in the morning...
Most of the time is lost between Tottenham Hale and Liverpool Street :(

I should have kept my mouth shut - I got a 317/8 on the 1655 ex LST home this evening
The 317/6 units are being repatriated from STEX service as the 379's are introduced.
Ironically they were originally destined for Bishops Stortford/Cambridge services many years ago when they were refurbed from 317/2 units, so they are just going back where they belong :)
--- old post above...
It looks like the 317's are being withdrawn on the airport service in order of unpleasantness - I haven't been on a 317/5 or 317/8 to and from the airport in a week or two, there are a few 317/6 still in use, but the services not operated by the 379's appear to be now largely serviced by the...
As I understand it, the last 10 of the 30 x 379 4 car units will not go into proper service on Cambridge services until the airport service is fully deployed with the first 20 - and it is far from that yet.
You don't commute by train daily, do you?
It's quite normal for passengers to get jammed in the doors on a regular basis --- old post above --- --- new post below ---

Not a problem if you commute from the airport daily...
Sorry, I meant when they physically go into full time service rather than random off peak runs, as opposed to a publicity event :)

Trust me, as a daily airport commuter for the last 14 years, the old units were more than capable of causing...
I've seen 005 and 007 lurking about a bit over the last few weeks, and 008 was on the adjacent platform when we pulled in to LST the other morning so I had a nose at the seat configuration etc as I walked past it. The seat configuration is similar to the 317/7 with a mix of tables and plenty of...
Assuming a typo in the first photo caption that it is the 16:55 not 16:45, I was sitting on the 16:55 on 17 March and never even noticed the Cl379 on the platform next door

On the other hand, if the TCMS is "full of bugs", maybe they...
