Things in living memory which seem very anachronistic now

The first definition is really just a subset of the second one. Being "old-fashioned" means belonging to an earlier period to when it was seen, the second definition encompasses that and more by covering anything belonging to any different period to when it was seen. Neither of those...

Things in living memory which seem very anachronistic now

Is it anachronistic that more people used to actually know what "anachronistic" means than do now?

    Russia invades Ukraine

I don't know what that means, but the point remains that the current invasion clearly breaches the terms that prohibits threatening or using military force or economic coercion against Ukraine.

Railcard discounts to be reduced to 33.4%

That's basically the times when peak fares apply on a lot of routes, so if the objective were to encourage travel at these times then it would make more sense just to make the current off-peak fares apply at all times.

Things in living memory which seem very anachronistic now

Most of the things listed here are not in any way anachronistic, just things that were different at some point in the past to how they are now.

    Russia invades Ukraine

Someone should remind Russia of this, the current invasion is a clear breach of the agreement.

    American Voltage product.

It depends what the device is, and what its voltage, current and frequency requirements are. These should be on a label somewhere on the device. Electronics often have a wide enough tolerance that they will work without any transformer. If the current requirement is high then a suitable...

TfL transforms Old Street into 'Fold Street' for 4 days

Do either of these things change the point that putting misinformation on official signage is misleading and undermines the purpose of official signage?

TfL transforms Old Street into 'Fold Street' for 4 days

It is possible to be legitimately concerned about both TfL's income and misinformation on official signage. First of all, describing your action of making ad hominem arguments as childish is not a personal attack, it is a criticism of your action. Secondly, I didn't say anything about not...

TfL transforms Old Street into 'Fold Street' for 4 days

You are just making a childish ad hominem attack, not addressing the substance of the legitimate concerns about misinformation on official signs.

TfL transforms Old Street into 'Fold Street' for 4 days

I don't really see how it is "obvious" to anyone without prior knowledge that you can't guarantee all passengers will have. A quick search of Google Maps shows at least six Fold Streets, nothing making it obviously not the correct name for a station.

TfL transforms Old Street into 'Fold Street' for 4 days

It is literally saying that the station name is "Fold Street" when it is not. How is this not misinformation? Using derogatory terms like "People get their pants with their twists" to refer to people people raising legitimate, reasoned concerns is really not helpful.

TfL transforms Old Street into 'Fold Street' for 4 days

It is still not the name of the station, so putting it on official signs which should be displaying the station name is misleading. Official signage exist for a reason, and putting misinformation on official signage undermines that reason.

TfL transforms Old Street into 'Fold Street' for 4 days

Seriously, after the Burberry Street nonsense TfL are putting wrong station names on official signs all over again?

    The 2024 US presidential election.

What else should he have done?

    The 2024 US presidential election.

You could certainly say to late, but how is it too little? What more should he have done beyond standing down which he has done?

    Remaining Effects of Covid

Where did I claim it was my concern? This is a discussion forum.

    Remaining Effects of Covid

Do you do the same for every other endemic strain of the common cold that there is a small chance that a neighbour might have a rare vulnerability to? If not then your are being logically inconsistent in singling out this one particular strain of cold which is no more dangerous than any other.

    Remaining Effects of Covid

In you post you said that you not only avoided meeting that one individual but also self-isolated for five days. Why was that necessary, and how did that help that individual?

    Remaining Effects of Covid

Don't all other strains of cold / flu also affect different people differently, so the same precautions should be taken whatever strain it is and the test is redundant?
