Perhaps this has been asked before.....
Why when the Class 24 and 25 locos were renumbered into TOPS were they not allocated numbers according to subtype like all other locos?
e.g. 47/4 started from 47401
but the first 25/1 just followed on from the last 25/0......

Does anyone have a picture of the controls on a class 31/0?
I know that these were nicknamed "toffee apples" due to the shape of the master controller (which was taken from cab to cab, i believe), but I was curious what the controls actually looked like!!
