    Arbroath - Platform 3

This is maybe a daft question but does anybody know why the local Arbroath to Dundee stoppers don’t utilise the third platform there? I appreciate that the south facing point from the platform and south crossover would need reinstating (and possibly track rehabilitation following vegetation...

Model Rail Scotland '24 - damp squib?

As I was saying on the other thread, some of the layouts were spectacular in looks but a lot did feel like a diorama. I appreciate technical hiccups occur, especially with the more complex layouts but I got the impression that some of this could have been worked out before the show. I don’t...

Model Railway exhibitions (that you might also be attending).

I think Eastfield is just being used as an example, mostly due to its gargantuan size and amount of rolling stock that just sat there, it should have been one of the highlights of the show but it was one of the largest disappointments. You are right though, many others were like that. I was...

Model Railway exhibitions (that you might also be attending).

Absolutely, I should have said hello when there! I was just in a world of my own  Agreed, it was very impressive looking but in the ten minutes I was there I saw one train move. A bit disappointing for a layout that had so much potential.

Some spectacular looking layouts but I was disappointed by the lack of running trains, which was something I didn’t understand.

Stagecoach Lake District by Bus 2024

It’s a shame it doesn’t start a week earlier for my week in Keswick. I’ll benefit from the new timetable for the last couple of days of the trip though.

    Service charges added to bills

Unfortunately some independent places do this, I had one do that recently and there was no mention on the menu of this. I asked for it to be removed, partly on principle but also as the service was poor. I don’t like this particular aspect of Americanism creeping in.

Stagecoach North Scotland (Bluebird and Highland)

With the extended night service trial having recently finished, does anyone know how the services fared? Wondering if they were a success or not.

How to avoid the airport public transport tax surcharges.

Bergen - for 40NOK you can catch the Bergen Light Rail line 1 which runs from the terminal to the city centre at Byparkken. This avoids the expensive Airport Express bus at the cost of approximately 10-15 minutes of a longer journey time. @stadler - I did see your comment re Aberdeen and the...

How to avoid the airport public transport tax surcharges.

For Aberdeen £4.00 single or £4.90 day ticket (covers all of Aberdeen City) or £7.60 return (valid for 28 days): Take the Stagecoach 727 public bus from outside the airport terminal to central Aberdeen (also runs past the majority of airport hotels). There is no premium fare from the airport...

Leeches. Absolutely petrified of them! And yet I have a morbid fascination with them, which makes no sense.

    Supermarkets discussion

I’m amazed that the entry gates in my local Tesco still work. They are frequently either held open by customers entering to allow those just visiting the kiosk to exit or simply just pulled open by the latter. There used to be an exit gate next to the kiosk but it’s been ”sealed up” now...

When will it go all wrong for the SNP?

What I am finding strange is that he stated the iPad was used as a hotspot for his kids rather than to watch the football directly. I’m curious as to why he allowed the government issued work ipad to be set up as a personal hotspot as, unless I’m wrong, you can’t just connect to it without...

Food/snacks/drinks you miss and would like back

I’ve had a long yearning to try Tab Clear again. I really don’t know why, I can’t remember if it was ever good or not but it was all the rage when I was a kid.
