Does RPI have a right to seize your ticket if...

It is allowed to be transferred as long as the user isn't using any part of the discounted fare (ie, the full and correct undiscounted PAYG fare is paid). There would be no financial loss, so no fare evaded. The student oyster means the student discount only applies to period passes stored on...

    Essex Thameside Franchise (C2C)

I'm also a regular user of C2C. I find it is really reliable and much better than the NXEA counterpart a short distance away. My only suggestion would be a 1tph Barking - Stratford - Liverpool Street. I think there would be a good use of such a service, particularly with the Westfield now...

Text 60006 to report a fare dodger.

You mean for example: 1549 Sheringham - Norwich, 1st class, clued up rail enthusiast in 1st class section with standard class ticket, although service is not timetabled as having 1st class accommodation. ;-)

Priv discount on Virgin advance fares

Advance fares shouldn't be available using PRIV. But certainly "virgin trains only" fares are available, and operator specific fares are often cheaper than the any permitted. One I regularly use is Euston to Milton Keynes Central, particularly when splitting.

    Another Rail Blue Cancellation

I received a letter from RSM Tenon today who are acting as administrators for the company. They gave further information. I'm pleased to say I have put my section 75 claim in to my credit card company. --- Cargo-D Limited (trading as ‘Rail-Blue Charters’) entered Administration on 12 October...

    Another Rail Blue Cancellation

I received a letter and a form to fill in requesting a refund that had to be returned by September 23rd to rail blue. Now just waiting. It's been a week, so gotta be patient. Don't forget if anybody bought individual tickets valued at more than £100 per ticket using a credit card (not debit...

    upgrade

Thanks Barry. I think it's a little misleading to say 'up to £15' on the website when it is actually £15 regardless of the journey taken! :-/

    upgrade

morning folks, using my 14 day ALR, how much is it each way to upgrade to first class from Euston to Manchester at a weekend? Their website says 'up to £15' (implying it may be less - but i expect it won't be!) but doesn't actually say how much it is.

    confusion to go to london

You can get a direct bus (453) £2.20p each cash fare, from Madame tussauds to Trafalgar square. No transport serves Buckingham palace but it's a nice 10/15 min walk from there to Buckingham palace. Buckingham palace, Downing street, Whitehall, Trafalgar square and the london eye are all...

Most famous passenger on your train

I was once sat opposite Michael Fish the BBC weatherman from Euston to Manchester a couple of years ago. Found him to be a bit rude to be honest listening to the way he spoke to people. :-/

    Staff pass vs Virgin rail-ongoing

Hi Ray, I have had similar issues, using my TFL staff pass on Virgin, but I just gave up in the end as i often travel to Milton Keynes but now just use my PRIV to get the virgin trains only ticket from Euston. Fortunately, I have a 2 page PDF document issued by TFL ticketing and revenue...

This is just the sort of thing that researchers for BBC watchdog would be interested in. Might be worth dropping an email there way?
