    Unusual position for a signal....

........although I suppose it strengthens the 'stop' message. Mind you I'm not sure how you'd procede if even if it showed clear! http://www.kenbaker.fotopic.net/p19956251.html Frank

    Simple Computing Question

One thing I would add to Craig's post is that if you use the 'direct connection by network cable' method, make sure you use a crossover cable. Also instead of moving all required files to the 'shared files' folder you could temporarily make the whole C: drive on the old computer a shared...

[News] NR to Take Dangerous Car Driver to Civil Courts

I think you'll find that statistically this statement is incorrect and that under 21's are the age group most likely to be involved in road accidents. This isn't of course to say that ALL under 21 year olds are worse drivers than any other age, any more than ALL over 70's are. I don't really...

    Very interesting ticket...

On the subject of different coloured tickets, how many of you younger members can remember seeing these? I found these here on a site which seems to have been abandoned since early 1998. Frank

In case anyone's interested in having a peek I thought I'd mention that I've just added some photos to the site, all taken last Saturday around London. http://www.the-siding.co.uk/latest.php Frank

    Superstition

91023 wasn't overhauled simply because it survived more than once. All the 91s were overhauled and then renumbered. Having said that they all simply had 100 added to their original number except 91023 which for some reason, as you say, became 91132. Frank

    Slang words

I don't know mate. Some of those terms pre-date even me! :) I've never even heard of the 'My Lordz' one. However I did find this rather amusing definition of a gricer. It comes from www.geoffspages.co.uk :- Frank

Three seconds?!! Blimey, I didn't think your old camera was that bad. Don't try taking any HSTs at full pelt. You'd have to press the button when you heard the train approaching in the distance. Frank

    Jim's Rant

I remember recently seeing a poster (I think it was at Kidderminster station) which 'named and shamed' people who had been fined for fare evasion. As I remember the majority were between 20 and 30 although the age varied wildly right up to old codgers like myself. (Not that I'm a fare evader I...
