    First Cymru

X52 was reused for the joint Crosville/SWT service from Swansea to Aberystwyth around 1985. The previous Crosville extension of the S52 to Swansea retained that number. By then the original SWT X52 had become X10/610.

The X52 was the motorway service extended every two hours to Carmarthen. The X1 was the original service cut back to Swansea.

We can all hope that after the open toppers have had some TLC over the winter they are more reliable next summer (even if only to cut down some of the comments on this forum).

Comedic "things you would ban": minor things that irritate you

Transport photographers who post on social media and then spend most of the post moaning about how much better the photograph would have been had the weather/location/traction been different. If you don't like the end result don't post it.

Bustimes seems to have developed a quirk where if a vehicle doesn't track for over a week it's allocation vanishes implying it is withdrawn. Ironically while it does this with my local Stagecoach operator it still shows a vehicle with another operator which worked last week but was then...

Zip World Tower and Rhigos Road (between Aberdare & Treherbert)

There used to be a Swansea - Treorchy bus run by South Wales Transport. By the time I sampled it in the early 1980s it was a Saturday only one bus each way run but I suspect it's origin was as a rail replacement bus service from the closure of the Blaenrhondda Tunnel. Sadly it was a victim of...

does tfw still need more coaches?

Your question was 'do they need more?' The answer of course is yes. However the only way they can get more is by taking units from elsewhere which means someone else has to suffer. It's not right, it's not fair but I'm afraid it's reality. Hopefully the new stuff coming in will release 150s...

does tfw still need more coaches?

Where do you anticipate these extra coaches coming from and in particular which services should be reduced or replaced by buses so that your line can have the capacity you argue it deserves?

    Chester to Exeter St Davids

There are major engineering works in the Bristol area during August with no trains between South Wales and Bristol Temple Meads and diversions for Cross Country services. It is possible trains for 20th August are not in the system yet.

First South West (Kernow & Buses of Somerset)

Indeed. Just noticed that Cardiff Bus's Scania Omnicity saloons have gained an upper deck on bustimes. The most reliable confirmation will be Ensign's list of ins and outs but I realise that as this comes out at the end of the month some people will think that's far too long to wait....
