The vast majority of buses and coaches have required to have speed limiters fitted and set to maximum 100kph (62mph) since 1988, so any operator ignoring such legislation is indeed very likely to be banned from using any motorways, …due to the loss of their operators licence!

These are SPT tendered services which have a peak vehicle requirement (PVR) of 1 bus, so the frequency (and ultimately the cost) is determined by the time required to complete a round trip. The 128 is one of the many hourly tendered services which can no longer maintain such a frequency and...

The 11 and 128 are tender gains on reduced timetables, albeit due to the SPT specifications rather than anything down to First themselves.

It is a very much reduced Games, and I'm not aware of any special bus services being provided for spectators. They are generally being advised to travel to the venues (none of which have high capacities) on the existing scheduled bus and train routes.

The way you have described it, that would not be “perfectly legal”. Registered timing points should be no more than 15 minutes apart on such a route.

That’s generally how the tendering process works! It could even be that First put in a more expensive bid than TMS to lose this contract to them. ;)

Their decision to move to another app provider was probably one of the worst business decisions that Transdev have taken.
