This morning they were offering it and didn't mention anything about it not being available to advance standard ticket holders, but then it was a 7 carriage service and it wasn't very busy in 1st (in my carriage anyway). Perhaps it does depend on how busy they are as to who it's offered to.
I had a trip from Clapham Jct to Waterloo on the return leg. A huge improvement over the current local/metro rolling stock. Nice that the PIS at Clapham Jct annouced the service as an "SWR Arterio service to Waterloo".
Out of curiosity, what type of ticket is allowing a partial refund? If it's an Advance then there's no refund and if it's an open (such as off peak) then it's a full refund minus the admin fee as far as I know. There's been a few of these on Twitter recently and I'm sure one was an advance single.
In an article on Nottinghamshire Live they said they have 40 ticket agents. Isn't that enough for one on each tram, even if working in pairs they could cover the majority and bring back onboard sales.
I fully agree with this, even glancing at Frighton on a screen in a busy station wouldn't jump out to me as Brighton, especially as there's plenty of stations that do have similar names. I assume they didn't change the screens at Victoria to say Frighton though and it was just local stations...
Today trams can't run from Clifton to Nottingham station because of flooding at Wilford Road. While this is outside of their control, the PIS at the stops doesn't reflect this and still shows services as running to the Station. I assume these can't easily be updated to reflect disruption.
