Of course a little research would be the common thing to do with any job role you apply for. But come on we aren’t expected know everything. Some of the guys In this forum give others such a hard time. But no hard feelings to anyone lol enjoy your weekend all.
Nah I haven’t got no email regarding where I need to go or the time I start. But I called up and a lady told me to arrive at st marys for around 9am but we should get an email soon tho
They will eventually contact you with an official start date. All you need to do is sign that online contract and just wait on a further email. MTR are a little slow at the moment. Just have to bare with them.
Congratulations by the way !!
Oh right , well at least they are doing something practical and gaining experience rather then sitting around. Thanks for that. May I what position you hold in MTR if you don’t mind. A driver ?
So where does that leave trainee drivers once they’ve fully passed out and qualified. If Crossrail won’t be completed until 2020 there would be a handful of newly qualified drivers doing what ?. I guess sitting around or route learning?
Just treat it is a normal conversation. They ain’t there to catch you out. As long as you’ve done your research on the company and the role of a train driver you’ll be fine. Just don’t rush your answers
Just a quick one. Does anyone know how long your stage one and stage 2 assessments last for once you pass? I heard they last for 5 years and if you fail to get a train driver position in that time frame you have to retake ?
I found out on the day of my interview. I reckon they just trying to get through everyone as quickly as possible and also depends on what depot you choose.
They’ve recently just took on a number of trainees, more then usual. They are short of instructors at the moment also with Crossrail delayed I can’t see them recruiting any time soon but I could be wrong.
We are aware of an issue with emails from the Forum to Microsoft-based email accounts (hotmail/outlook/live.com email addresses). This is being looked into currently, thanks for your patience meanwhile.
