Bristol Harbourside Bus Rally & Running Day - Sunday 17th May

I thought yesterday was fantastic; stuck mostly to the Stockwood route for some reasonable running (Tempo , Cityline Dart and Olympian) plus a blast up the M32 and back on a National Holidays Tiger (A811 CCD). Highlight of the day has to be the Weston open topped VR on the mystery...

Bristol Harbourside Bus Rally & Running Day - Sunday 17th May

I expect the many of the usual vehicles will be there, but I'm particularly looking forward to seeing the poo bus that First have now confirmed will be attending. :D To get an idea of likely vehicles in attendance just search Bristol Harbourside bus on flickr; plenty of shots from previous...

    150219 accessibility modifications

I thought they were designed with all that space to provide extra room for fare dodgers.

Discussion on electrification and the Marlow branch

Given no other sensible solution seems to exist, a cheaper option would be to close the branch and replace the services with buses (just not Solos).

An extraordinary conundrum regarding fare evasion....Advice needed

I had a problem with a DCA a couple of years back claiming that they had taken on a debt from a credit card provider that I never had any dealings with. Advice I received at the time was not to give the DCA **any** information (not even a signature) and certainly do not acknowledge the...

if the locals want a brick bridge, this could be the answer :D

Bristol Harbourside Bus Rally & Running Day - Sunday 17th May

Looking forward to this; I've found it one of the best events in the calendar for variety of vehicles, while the Bristol hills makes for some good running (although the traffic can be a problem).

Loss of colour in some shots

The S1800 does have a raw option but it is in a hidden menu! This can be accessed by placing an empty folder called HiddenMenu in the root folder of the memory card. With this memory card inserted into the camera, open the setup menu, select Reset in the Settings 3 tab, then hold Left on the...

Why do you use the train?

Reducing the weight of seating on trains

Having perused the 'Reading Chronicle', it would seem that FGW have gone a long way towards saving the weight of seating. There are regular complaints in that paper about not being able to find any seats on the Paddington trains.

    Greenpeace Protesters Occupy Coal Train

Quoting further from the BBC report linked in the OP Surely hundreds of global leaders flying off to NY has a detrimental effect on the climate.....perhaps standing on the end of the runway at Heathrow would have had a better media impact, saving the tonnes of CO2 and hot air being needlessly...

Trespass at: Woking 19/8/14; Clandon and Liphook 20/8/14

No, poor David, the little angel who everybody loved, touched the juice rail and is now dead, so unfortunately won't be returning to school.

No more Travelling Chef on FGW?

I Think some of those apples have got more mileage than me :( re staff redeployment, FGWs consultant celebrity chef Mitch Tonks is reported to have said recently 'there is no way I'm going to be associated with prawn sandwiches on a trolley'. Guess he's going to be out of a job then.

    Overcrowding Solutions?

A couple of decades ago, BR used to simply price passengers off the railway. Quite a successful policy this was..... Seriously, a lot of effort has been made to entice passengers onto underused services with advance purchase tickets, so why hasn't any real effort been put into pricing them...

would this bother you?Or would you 'expect' it on a train?

For those lovely children running up and down the aisle, add to their fun by creating a moving obstacle with your leg. A close look at the vinyl flooring often calms their unruly behaviour. Younger crying children often benefit from being given a packet of peanuts, a brief choking sound is...

    BBC watchdog- train ticketing

But which is the best split ticket website (for on the day purchases)? There seems to be a proliferation of them, some seem pretty poor at finding the best splits.
