They're the same as the ones being used in the Class 80x. Not tried them personally, but they don't look too bad. Preferable to a cramped Voyager seat at least! They seem to be an evolution of the Class 395 seat, which I found to be quite comfortable when I last travelled on one.

Sitting airline is much more preferable to having foot space battles with the person opposite if you ask me. On the GWR HSTs there is so much legroom i find that they never really feel that claustrophobic. Especially not compared to a Pendolino or Voyager.

FGW HST seats. I've been on most rolling stock old and new across the UK and none of them are as comfy as those. Very roomy and plenty of legroom. Also really like the drop down tables.

The 175/180s by far, most comfortable diesel multiple unit stock in the UK. Followed by the 158/159 then 185. The Chiltern 168s have those questionable 'forward leaning' seats that sometimes irritate me. But they're different to the LM/XC 170s which have comfier seats but less legroom.

Farringdon and City Thameslink... Surely nothing passes through those without stopping??

Class 172s on London Midland - cant imagine they get anywhere near top speed in passenger service with the frequent stopping!

From alot of experience, best are the 175/180 units. Plus marks for being the most comfortable too, far superior to Voyagers and would happily sit on one all the way from Aberdeen - Penzance! Worst has to be a pacer or a 150.

Hillingdon is definitely easier from Birmingham. Decent car park and right off the A40, which is really at that point just the suburban part of the M40. I always direct people that way and it works well. Frequent Met service into Baker Street, quicker still if lucky enough to be able to switch...
