    WSMR satisfaction now 99%!

With due respect this demonstrates that you do not understand the cost profile of running a railway business! The cost of free food for First Class customers is insignificant when considered in the context of the cost of owning or renting the rolling stock, maintaining it and putting fuel in the...

    Chiltern Railways

Train ran from Kidderminster to Birmingham Snow Hill where it was cancelled just after 0900 due to a fault that the fitter could not resolve. So in this instance the empty stock was long gone by the time the decision to cancel was made. The train that went through at 0923 was the broken train...

    Class 165s to LOROL.

Not quite correct - the body profile is the same but the 165's are 23m long as opposed to 465 at 20m hence the wider body becomes an issue due to the greater overhang on curves.

    wsmr bring back 20.03 departure

I'm sure that if W&S believe that they can make money from it beyond the summer it will continue.

    WSMR through York last night

Looks like a toilet flushing and the DVT was being used purely as a brake van - apparently DBS drivers involved did not sign DVT.

How often do, or have, class 67's reached 125mph?

Suggest you should check your facts before you place yourself on a pedestal. You may sign 67's but you are totally wrong. The 67's have clearance on their NRAP (Network Rail Acceptance Panel) Certificate to operate at up to 125mph. It is currently restricted to Western Region, but in...

Chiltern Evergreen 3 Announcment - Friday

WSMR have demonstrated that 67 + Mk3's meet the higher braking curve that HST's and disc braked Sprinters meet - this due to the fact that the Class 67 has a very good brake itself and does not rely on the coaches to brake it from high speed. THis is not the case with other locomotives hauling...

WSMR Services via WCML Weekend of 23rd & 30th Jan

Although to be fair 67014 had been used to replace 67012 the previous day so that 67012 could go to Crewe for repairs. Unfortunately there seemed to be an assumption that 67014 had enough fuel to complete the diagram when in fact it did not so 67012 was borrowed back from Crewe before the...

    wsmr update

Due to failure of 2 locomotives with wheel problems on Monday/Monday night set WS001 was stranded at Crewe ETD without a good loco and the loco at Wembley had to go to Aylesbury for Tyre Turning. Only way to ensure service for the morning was to haul WS001 to Wembley with hired in resource...

    Wrexham and Shropshire refurbished stock

Set WS003 going to Wolverton to pick up 10222 which has been there for re-commisioning. Should have been out in May!! 10222 should be in use with WS002 during next week replacing 10235 which has a bent gangway that needs repairs. 10235 + 10215 (both DB Regio UK) and 2 of the Cargo D TSO's...

ATW - Threat to WSMR and Evergreen 3?

I don't see them saying that they will pull out of Evergreen 3? It seems to me that they are making the point that Chiltern are having to put a significant investment in and are not keen for others to come along and use up the capacity that they have paid dearly to create.

    Low Adhesion

Why are we stopping trains at all to inform them of low adhesion - there were SPADS last year as a result of trains not being able to stop at signal to be informed! Surely better to use the general broadcast facility on the radio systems where that exists?

    WSMR Refurbished Train Diagrams

Set will be on a different diagram each day. They are sequential so it is possible to predict - but that assumes no failures or other disruption. Wrexham & Shropshire are launching the new 18.33 service tomorrow that has been made possible by the improved linespeeds between Princes Risborough...
