What do you mean a normalised basis? Without even thinking about inflation and price rises, journeys on HS2 will more a lot more expensive with the difference justified as recovering the cost of building the line. Freeing up capacity on the WCML is a good thing and faster journeys are even...
I would like to see significantly lower fares, the services will become slower so we need compensating for this. I also would like to see a second Liverpool service. Especially I need the timings of the Birmingham services to be reduced as they are too slow.
The plot thickens, I wonder who was lucky and hit the jackpot when they next used that machine then and got 2 drinks. Did you check on your way back last night to see if there were any more stuck?
What a coincidence, I was changing trains at Ashford last night and noticed a drink that was stuck in the grabber as I was walking around. Were you the one who bought that bottle of water by any chance?

At least CrossCountry has manual announcements and operate in the North so you could opt for them if you want to hear some.
Unfortunately, they are not very concise and as their staff like to ramble on for several minutes about catering, ticket restrictions and lots of other waffle - as opposed...
Freeing up capacity and paths on HS1 for more Javelins to Kent, and preventing existing ones from being delayed whenever they are held to allow a Eurostar to pass first
You are not wrong, although the Networkers are supposed to be ever imminently binned so nobody wants to spend the money. Meanwhile the Javelins will continue to be used for many more years
