What in your Opinion is better?

Well i personally cant see it going off without a couple of runs. Be a bit dissapointing for Herston works to take her out of the workshop and send it up on its way to Scottland without seeing it run at Swanage :D

What in your Opinion is better?

Too right, they are very costly locos to run unlike the standard 4MTs or 6695 and with the ever increasing price of coal, efficiancy is essential . But they wont get rid of them straight away and while they're together i'll be sure to be around as much as possible!

BA 777 From Bejing crash lands at LHR

It was an unfortunate event, but doesnt really look dreadful unlike the worst case scenario of falling even shorter into residential houses, engine fire etc... what could have been a very serious incident just averted. Very proffesionally handled, we'll see how events unfold.

    The...New Change......

Keeping an open mind... Can't blame you for camera shake on this one, obviously tripod irrelevent out the side of a train... but still shouldnt shake if you rest the camera on the side of the train. Got a bit annoyed at the changing of windows and the the panning of the camera, the need...

What in your Opinion is better?

Swanage and Mid hants, both very accesible for me but i think between the two its Swanage for me. Can't place my finger on why, but i think i working there has effected my choice. However the mid hants locos are more my favourites, but that wont be a problem for me in the years to come, Manston...

    Hornby 2008 catalogue!

Yeah, i can second that, very nice 73s they are, especially the Desiro liveried. Fair enough from that perspective, they'd be quite fun to detail if i had one at my disposal!

    Hornby 2008 catalogue!

Well we know the 20s are a re-release, bachmann will still lead the way with their choppers. Although, some of Hornbys products more increasingly re-releases. Those that arn't are excellent new models with very high detail. M7s, N15s, 56s etc. I personally wouldnt put them down too much on...

    Swanage Beer Fest...

Well for me, Swanage is local costing under £8 to get there in an hour unlike £55 to the moors in under 7 hours... which to pick ;)

National Railway Museum claims the world first trainspotter

A Master John Backhouse aged 14 in 1825 witness to the first steam-hauled passenger train in 1825 on the Stockton to Darlington railway. "Failing to find enough words to describe the exciting new phenomenon, he drew the steam-hauled train that caught his imagination so intensely."...

    Swanage Beer Fest...

Ahh in that case, on its own it can only work with 3417 and if it wants to use the MK1s it'll need to have a 20 for vacuum brakes ...but news in (yet to get official confirmation) Wessex Rail Gen

    Swanage Beer Fest...

The 56 that was meant to have been attending last year had air brakes and if it was to operate with the Mk1s then the 20 would have been piloted by the 56 because the Mk1s are vacuum only. I dont know what brakes this 56 has or if its even the same 56 but if its air it'll only operate with...

    Swanage Beer Fest...

I heard simular, perhaps using the shunters for brake van rides like they would normally during Thomas. But if they do use the same 3 train timetable as the 40th anniversary then there will be two locos standing at Norden. It may be a different case this time particularly if they top n tail no...

    Swanage Beer Fest...

I wonder if they'll put a steam in service. Hopefully not (unusual thing for me to say), there is plenty of diesels to run that timetable, the 40th anniversary timetable worked well providing the changes at corfe work alright, but that does mean 3 locos are required to start at Norden which...
