    F-35 Fighter Jet costs

Flyaway unit cost for F-22 listed here as $150 million. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lockheed_Martin_F-22_Raptor F-35 costs in current LRIP phase (meaning the cost when in full production will be less) - https://www.f35.com/about/fast-facts/cost

    F-35 Fighter Jet costs

Gripen isn't stealthy, and most importantly of all cannot operate off any type of aircraft carrier. The F-35 program, while it has faced delays, is progressing well and the aircraft has performed admirably in a number of exercises. The UK took delivery of (as I understand it) its sixth...

    Trident

We manufacture the submarines and the warheads. We have the ability to store, load and fire the weapons. In what way is it not independent?

    Trident

The missiles do indeed come from a pool in the USA but as there is always one Vanguard submarine at sea with a complement of Trident missiles, this has very little effect on operations.

    Trident

Whether we go through with the threat or not is down to the PM - either directly or through the letters of last resort (for all we know, Theresa May set out an order for the boat captains not to retaliate, and her statement today was a bluff). But if the best way to prevent that scenario from...

And the current class is named Vanguard. That's the point of Trident. It exists to make nuclear war a scenario that nobody can win, hence deterring anyone from launching such an attack in the first place.

Jeremy Corbyn & Tom Watson elected leader and deputy leader of the Labour Party

Only a handful of the people there were actually Labour members (active members, at least). Most were ex SWP, Communist Party etc., and one of them was actually expelled from the LP for threatening behavior.

    Class 50 **rumour**

The 67's RA rating might be restrictive depending on the work that Colas may give to the 50s.

    C-17 Globemaster over Birmingham?

Nope, you were correct for yesterday's flight. C-17 ZZ175 as RRR826 performed at least one approach to Newquay. :)

    Railway Stations Without Tracks!

The goods shed and one platform at Helston are still standing. The goods shed is used as a community centre with the platform having been made into a flower bed. Streetview link

Stations and lines not used to their full potential

Penzance has the added traffic of those who will be going onwards to the Isles of Scilly, but other than that I don't think so - from my limited experience, most people in Cornwall get on at Truro. Difference though is that Penzance is the terminus of the main line, rather than being a branch...

Forgive me for my ignorance, quite new to this hobby. Does this mean that the 57s will be doing local runs within Cornwall throughout the summer?

HST Power Car into retro livery

43002 is looking lovely, hopefully it'll make a journey down to Penzance while still in that livery. Must say, it will look a bit odd with just the power car painted up!
