Chris Gibb to Run Public Sector Scotrail

70s Crap??? No! your Tory Crap takes the biscuit. One would think forums such as this would be inhabited by a few that have a clue about the Rail industry, obviously not.If you dont want an industry based feedback, that is fine and dandy, continue in your anti worker nonsense.

Chris Gibb to Run Public Sector Scotrail

No industrial action can be taken without jumping through umpteen anti trade Union laws, members balloted, thresholds reached, so a very different world from the Miners strike. Trade Unions are now very much member led, not dictated too by Union barons in ivory towers as some would still like...

Chris Gibb to Run Public Sector Scotrail

Really? 1970s What a silly statement.

Chris Gibb to Run Public Sector Scotrail

Here we go! Usual anti trade Union rhetoric, the Trade Unions are protecting their members jobs, terms and conditions ,something that is going to be gathering momentum throughout the whole industry in coming months.

Jenny Gilruth appointed new Transport Minister in Scotland

Can't really be anything but an improvement on the last two incumbents of the position! Both pretty average at best! And given the impending transfer of the Scotrail franchise she has her work cut out, before even thinking about Caledonian Sleeper and it's annual industrial disputes!

I tend to use Northbound and Southbound, I wouldn't want to fall foul of the terminology " Police"

    ScotRail booking/ticket office 'cuts'

Spot on with that summary. Pre Covid, many Booking Offices were not manned during advertised opening hours. And as you say ,even if manned, on occasions the staff were doing other duties, ie litter picking etc.

RMT Ballot Avanti West Coast Members For Strike Action

Like the NUM! Are you having a laugh? Have you any idea of the anti trade union laws and hoops that have to be jumped through before any strike action?

I thought I saw something about seated passengers being allowed again on all North of Edinburgh trains, subject to booking in advance?

RMT Ballot Avanti West Coast Members For Strike Action

Many Rail staff work very unsocial hours, no public transport available at booking on and off times, so Carpark facilities are hardly a luxury.

RMT Ballot Avanti West Coast Members For Strike Action

Perhaps I say that because I have personal experience of being made redundant from the Rail industry ! Not in the least detached from reality. Many posts on this forum, not just on this thread, are anti Trade Union ranting from people who fail to understand the benefits of Trade Unions and...

RMT Ballot Avanti West Coast Members For Strike Action

What and where are all these jobs " out there" ?? Zero hours contracts? Minimum wage? A much more sensible option is to stay in the rail industry and fight for your terms and conditions, and that is what hundreds possibly thousands, will be doing over coming months and years.

RMT Ballot Avanti West Coast Members For Strike Action

Nothing in the least ironic about a Trade Union defending members terms and conditions!

Any idea what happened to Monday's Southbound from Inverness??

Joanne Macguire appointed as ScotRail Chief Operating Officer

Had a look, yes the Website is still promoting Magic. I had noticed that Facebook posts of the last couple of weeks were much more destination based ,I stand corrected , hopefully reality will spread throughout all marketing in due course.

    Caledonian Sleeper

Your assumptions on the action of the RMT are completely wrong. Trade Unions try protect the terms and conditions of it's members. On your point about what Serco are doing, the Current Caledonian Sleeper management are well aware of the folly of past marketing, promising the undeliverable. If...

There is always a delay at Carstairs to attach the Edinburgh portion to the rear , at least twenty minutes.

    Caledonian Sleeper

All decisions are subject to a referendum or ballot, and the members are without any doubt calling the tune.
