I live just south of the Mersey where it passes through Warrington, the traffic passing through Stockton Heath which is about 2 miles from Bank Quay is ridiculous and a real bottle neck. A lot of that traffic is coming/going to the Northwich/Winsford areas. It’s a crazy situation in my opinion...

I agree to that idea, I know people say there is not much in the way of passenger numbers at Acton Bridge, Hartford & Winsford, but when you add Hartford (Northwich & Viilages) and Winsford (throw in Middlewich with no station at all) then you are talking about an area of 50000+...
I agree, plus a lot of services from Bank Quay & Warrington Central to Liverpool/Manchester are essentially stoppers, is there more revenue generated on a train stopping at Chassen Road on a Warrington - Manchester service as there would be if a train stopped at Hartford on a Crewe - Warrington...
Wow, thanks for all the comments and history regarding services and past timetables that stopped in mid-Cheshire. I started the post out of curiosity and also for selfish reasons, the curiosity is that I am a Crewe born lad whose family originate from mid-Cheshire, I can remember my Dad telling...
First off, hope I am posting this in the correct forum. I have often wondered why there is not say a Northern Service between Crewe - Preston, or even just to Warrington Bank Quay or Wigan North Western. The reason I have always wondered why there isn’t is because is you live near and use Acton...
That is for the reply.
So if I a bought a normal Warrington Bank Quay - Crewe (£12) that would cover me from Warrington Central to Crewe going via Manchester/Stockport?
Not sure if anybody could help me, but if you bought a ticket from Warrington - Crewe, could you go via Manchester & Stockport. I know Warrington Bank Quay and Central are classed as Warrington group stations, so if I travelled from Central and changed at Manchester or Stockport, then got a...
Does anybody know how long the tests are valid for when you have sat a test to be groundstaff with a FOC. I sat and passed a test in March 2016 but failed the interview, now I have been invited back by the same FOC to sit another test, but I was under he impression the aptitude tests were valid...
Afternoon,
I have an interview coming up for the position of 'static shunter'. I have done the required reaserch into what the role entails, but could somedoby just advise if by static they mean you only work at one depot, or does this mean something else entirely?
Got an interview coming up for a Technical Officer role, not DU based but working with a survey team. Does anybody know what the pay is like, roughly, there was know salary advertised with the job description, plus as a TO, when you work Saturday nights is this classed as a normal shift or time...
If you have passed the DB Schenker assessments for Production Supervisor but failed the interview, does anybody know if a) the test results remain valid for a period of time, and b) are these assessment results recognised by other FOC's & TOC's.
Thanks in advance.
Wow, there is a real mixed bag of possibilities for terms for this role, no wonder it was not laid out in the job description. It will be based in Manchester, if that reflects in the salary at all. I looked on Google and found an RMT circular from January 2015 and it stated S&T 3 was currently...
Thanks for the responce Tom, I have checked the job discription again and there is no mention of a grade.
In the interview I was told that I would be working in a team of 3, it was a 13week roster with 2 weeks days and the rest nights, and that was about it really.
Hi all,
Can anybody help me out, I have recently had an interview for the position of operative for S&T. Now, I do actually work for Network Rail, but the job was advertised with no stated salary. On the Internet I have seen the position advertised from £20k up to £26k. Also, I am confused as...
