    Non-Urgent TOPS Requests

Cheers, thanks. It broke-up a 2 hour wait at Nutfield whilst my grandson was at a nearby birthday party...

[Trivia] stations where two lines converge on a single station and then both branch off eachother towards different directions.

Three routes in one end (From Town, Junction and Dorchester), but only the one out the other to Castle Cary, by my reckoning.

[Trivia] stations where two lines converge on a single station and then both branch off eachother towards different directions.

Someone mentioned Yeovil Pen Mill, but I don't think that would fit into whatever criteria the OP meant...

[Trivia] stations where two lines converge on a single station and then both branch off eachother towards different directions.

Anyone mentioned Derby (Midland)? North end one route to Ambergate and beyond, plus original route to Trent via Chaddesden. South end to Birmingham/Bristol and another route to Leicester/Nottm/ London (via Litchurch curve).

[Trivia] stations where two lines converge on a single station and then both branch off eachother towards different directions.

I've probably misunderstood the whole premise of the question, then. So basically, it's any junction station where two routes (presumably passenger or are freight-only included as well) come in from one end and two routes go out the other. Must be hundreds...

    Winding back the railway clock

Overnight trains where you could get your head down; Bristol to Milford Haven behind a Hymek springs to mind. Also Derby to St Pancras; usually waking up around the Weetabix factory at Burton Latimer with a compartment to oneself. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Back in the day at Sandy; GN (ECML) with the adjacent LNW Oxford - Cambridge using the adjoining platforms but not connected.

[Trivia] stations where two lines converge on a single station and then both branch off eachother towards different directions.

Trivia: Physically connected neighbouring train stations with no regular direct train service.

Would Pilning and STJ count, even though there's no access to the down platform at the former?

Does the UK have a "premier" main line?

The Midland was "The Best Way". I rest my case...

    Worthing Platform 1

Is this ever used by scheduled services nowadays? And why does it have a trap point at the Country end, but not one at the London end? Is it because it's only signalled for Hove/Brighton-bound traffic, so in effect it's a catch point? Just a wondering...

Defence Investment Plan - Impact on DfT Budget

The E Mids is an easy target for cancellation / deferral of projects. No real central "voice" like Manchester and "The North", or London and the SE.

Trivia: Physically connected neighbouring train stations with no regular direct train service.

If one includes freight lines and spurs, then I imagine the list would be greatly expanded. For example, taking the Stenson to Sheet Stores line, one could have: Tutbury - E Mid Parkway Tutbury - Attenboro' Tutbury - Ilkeston Willington - E Mid Parkway Willington - Attenboro' Willington -...
