If so and you have just received it, then you should contact the court straight away to inform them that you have only just received it.
Hopefully this will give you a short time to respond before they take enforcement action .

Unfortunately your ticket was not valid on that train as you purchased it after you got on the train
You can expect to hear by letter from SWT (assuming it was their service ?) anytime up to 6 months from now
Other forum members may be able to advise what typical time...
I submitted a DR claim to Northern on 21st May, I got an acknowledgement the same day, approval 5 days later and payment 3 days after that.
I was surprised how quick they were.

Did you get a penalty fare at the time ?
If so post it on hear with your details and serial number hidden
We can then advise if the penalty fare paperwork is compliant to the regulations .
If it is compliant then an appeal is likely to fail as you did travel on the 2nd day without a valid ticket
In that case it would have been prudent to ensure that post was being opened or forwarded whilst away
On here the 'experts' do often mention this when giving advice.
